Terrible experience overall! Definitely won’t be returning to Nash 19 for many reasons....
When we arrived during a busy late lunch hour there was one lady alone on the sandwich counter trying her best with the “boss” not helping any matters but just barking orders and demands for her to hurry up. She was quite rude to all of her staff in fact I was horrified that someone would treat employees that way. We waited to pay, we had ordered a chicken salad bowl, ham and cheese toasted sandwich, a latte and a 7up which all came to a wopping 30 quid!! The sandwich alone being €11.75! We waited to be seated but seemingly they give seating to there regular customers first and after 10 mins we were given a seat, we were assured that the sandwich would be brought to the table but after another 10 minuets and no sandwich I asked for the waitress to check on it she didn’t apologise but went to look, she didn’t return! So again I stopped another waitress who went to get it for me. It came to the table just lumped on a plate with a dollop of mayo and relish nothing special at all. The cheese was curdled and extremely strong, to be honest it just tasted off, the ham was so salty and basically it was inedible! I’m never one to send food back but I thought for €11.75 this was unacceptable, the waiter I called over was very polite and apologetic. He came back to say yes I was right the cheese had turned and in fact was too strong and mature to be serving and offered a full refund for the expensive sandwich. The salad bowl was bland with just undressed leaves and chicken breast with the choice of 3 tasteless salads, which just all tasted the same to us. Overall a terrible experience at Nash 19. I was most appalled by the boss/owner who shocked me with her complete rudeness...
Read moreNot being from cork it is always a treat to visit Nash, a total treat! The food is beautiful and so well sourced and created.I organised to meet my friend, a first time mam with her little newborn there. We came in between services breakfast was done and lunch hadn’t begun- grand because we grabbed scones and drinks as that’s was the offering. Then lunch people started drafting in but it wasn’t full. A tall blonde abrupt woman came over and asked us to move the baby - a waitress gave us a receipt and then the blonde woman asked me to push my table towards the wall. I’m pregnant too and I naturally went to help her move the table because ‘ that’s how I was raised - manners. She then snapped at me as if I was an employee / child in primary school “ now we won’t hit wall please”. She then said girls were busy for lunch mental - will I get you menus. It would have been easier for her to just say GET OUT YOUR IN OUR WAY. I come from a family who owns a food business and there is a way to communicate. I would have been beyond happy to help her out had she said ‘ girls apologies but we have a reservation on this table and I’m sorry to say we will need you to leave in ten- no problem! But to basically bully us out the door 🚪? I was infuriated because my poor friend is still coming to grips with finding changing rooms in places etc and though she needed to use the facility we felt so uncomfortable that we just left and went on the search for another option. I know business is vital and service needs to be swift but don’t forget that these people sitting in front of you - who choose your venue over plenty others, who are paying you their hard earned money have stories too. The feeling I’m left with is that I never want to give my money to this type to...
Read moreIt was on my “ want to go” list. I was really looking forward to it before I realized the service was so bad and my food was just grand...it’s really overrated. If you don’t wanna ruin your day, I promise you can definitely get much better food and experience in other restaurants even in the same street!
We were asked to wait by the window as they were changing the menu, but after about 15 minutes, I realized the staff forgot us. When I saw they starting to ask customers to queue, I stepped forward to tell the blonde and curly hair girl who was arranging for tables that we had been waiting for a long time there. She answered “ the queue is here, please queue in the end of here”... I explained again. She just ignored us.
I could only asked the owner again as she looked at us several times when we were waiting by the window. She said ‘please give them more patience!’ And led us to a table at a corner, then~we waited there for another while with NO menu, NO water when we saw they always gave those to the customers who came behind us 😓. Although we got ignore again and again and my friend wanted to leave, I was still saying I wanted to give it more chances. And it end up with disappointment.
The girl who asked us to get into the long queue even yelled at me and asked me’ did you say you want a table or takeaway?’
Of course we didn’t mind waiting and we didn’t mind the staff forgot us, but we definitely did mind being treated so unfairly and your bad manners. Eventually I got takeaway and angers from the restaurant. It was my first experience with them and the latest. Never again! But still thank to the staff who helped me to checkout and get curry takeaway. She was smiling and saved my day a bit from the...
