Oak Fire Pizza - Princes Street — Restaurant in Cork

Exceptional! Myself and my family (4 of us) visited the Princes street store on tuesday evening (27.05.25) to celebrate our sons 17th birthday. The store itself is cosy, with outside seating also available. We sat inside in a booth. There was a really lovely ambience - cute decor and background music that was just the right volume. The staff were friendly and kind, attentive but not over bearing. We ordered the dough balls and dough sticks to start. The portion sizes were generous. We ordered 4 pizza's and 4 drinks. I am vegan and I was over the moon to discover that they can make any of their pizza's with vegan cheese. The pizza's were also a generous size, perfectly cooked with lots of toppings. In fact we couldn't finish our meal and the staff were very accommodating in providing a take home box which we filled! The total meal came to about 93 euro (2 x starters, 4 pizza's and 4 drinks) which I found very good value considering the food and ingredients were of the highest quality. Including a tip we spent 100 euro for a family of 4 (2 of which are teens!) to eat out - well worth every penny. I can highly recommend and we can't wait to go back again. I have to preface this review to tell you I love pizza. I've eaten pizza all over the world at maybe a hundred different places. We ordered 3 pizzas and a garlic bread and only the garlic bread was excellent and one pizza was good. The pesto pizza I ordered was nearly uneatable. There were so many ingredients on it that you couldn't get any idea of what you were eating. The onions were soggy and the pesto was some kind of generic no flavour. The pizza my wife got was a great pizza by all means but again, the ingredients were poured on there. I'd like to see some simpler pizzas, pesto, mozzarella and chorizo. Bacon banana and garlic, things like that. The margarita pizza was amazing. That and the garlic pizza blew my taste buds into submission. If this was for the food alone It would have reached a 5 star rating very easily. I have eaten here on various occasions and i'm always left highly satisfied with the food. Though on more than one occasion a group of us were directed to a table alongside other customers while this would not be an issue if the restaurant was busy but this was not the case when suggesting could we be seated elsewhere we were refused. I don't know the reasoning behind this as no other customers came in while we ate but being seated further apart from other customers while we ate would have created a more comfortable environment. Also please stop opening mineral cans for customers as by the time the food arrives to the table the drink has gone flat, perhaps an old school tactic to encourage customers to buy another but if I wanted the can to be opened I'd have...
