Booked the restaurant (upstairs) this time for a change. Love the new look upstairs as well. Very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. We were looked after really well with prompt, friendly service. The food for the most part was really good. One of the Monkfish orderers even said it was exceptional! My duck confit was very tasty and others were really happy with their chicken and fish dishes. The only slight criticism was that the chips left a slight aftertaste and that it might have been a different oil used in the cooking. Desserts were fab too. This bar/ restaurant is well worth a visit and is a definite plus for the area. I hope it continues to do well. Did I mention the lovely staff??!

The atmosphere was lovely and relaxed, and we were really well looked after by Sonya and Gill, who were both so friendly and attentive. You can tell they genuinely care about giving great service. Highly recommend The Village for great food, great staff, and a really welcoming vibe. Canā€™t wait to go back!

The food was terrible. I had the steak and fries, and my partner had the chicken burger. Our nacho starter came stone cold, with the mince freezing and clumped together, we had to send it back.

The chicken burger was served in a stale, fridgeā€‘cold bun that the grill couldnā€™t even warm through. The fries were awful, leaving a strange, chemical aftertaste. Everything tasted cheap and poorly prepared.

No one checked on us, even after the starter was returned, and I overheard another customer also complaining to the woman who seemed to be the owner.

Itā€™s a shame because the place looks great and the wine was nice (though both my glasses were underā€‘poured). But the food and service were shockingly bad. I wouldnā€™t recommend it unless things improve...

ā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļøā­ļø I had the pleasure of dining at this new restaurant, and it was such a lovely experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable.

The food was absolutely delicious ā€“ every dish was full of flavor, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that care and attention go into the cooking here. Portion sizes were just right, and everything came out at the perfect temperature.
