Luca's Restaurant Letterkenny — Restaurant in County Donegal

We checked menus online, decided to give it a try. Once there prices appeared to be higher, like 15.95 for a platter for two against 13.95 online price... The platter itself... Two slices of really nice pizza garlic bread. Really good. It ends here... Two bones, ribs, with a bit of meat on. Two chicken wings, a few potato wedges, actually crispy and tasty, two onion rings. Not sure but I think that was all. I'm a head chef in a massive hotel selling tons of platters like these for parties and believe me they get 3x more for 14.95pp. We ordered pizza. Nice edges. But the middle of the base was like a thinnest pancake you can imagine. Really. We like thin crust but it wasnt a crust. Soggy, wet thin pancake. We saw many people coming in after us so the place must be good at something, just not sure what it is. We asked for another garlic pizza bread since we liked the first one on the platter. Guess what? It was exactly same pancake as our pizza. Disappointing they do double standards as the first garlic bread was the pizza I expected and it was really nice. I was sooooooo disappointed today with Lucas, we have been a few times, food staff and service was good,BUT NOT TODAY. I booked the table for 3 o clock. When we arrived our name wasn't even on the booking list. I know it was book as I watched the Manager take our name and write it in the diary on the day I booked it. We waited over 30 mins for our table to be cleared, no one came near us, so as a staff passed our table we asked for dessert menus, all the plates were stacked at the end of the table. He came back with the menus and took some of the dirty dishes, then we sat and waited but no one came back to clear the rest of the plates or take our order for dessert, so we waited and waited. I think if we waited until closing time no one would have come near us. Its not to say they were busy as I counted 5 tables of 2. There was 6 of us. I spoke to the manger as we were leaving to air my grievance. I am so disappointed that this has happened. I will think twice about...

Lucas save the day. I was on a date and between the jigs and the reels of the nerves and eagerly wanting some delicious food, I forgot to turn the lights off in my car before entering the restaurant, rookie mistake!

Dinner went well, food was fantastic and the staff were lovely as always, things were going in the right direction.

Fast forward to getting back into my car, I could see the faint lights on my dash board. A cold sweat broke as I quickly came to terms with my error, disaster! Luckily for me she’s cool so we laugh it off.

I went back inside to ask for a pair of jump leads, to which of no avail. However Andre the manger (I presume), thinks on his feet and sends a staff member to the shop to buy some jump leads. Now neither of us being the most mechanically minded men, but strong willed and a bit of futtering about we get the leads in the right place and we’re alive and kicking again.
