Mr. Malloy, First thank you for the amazing experience of stumbling into your pub to be greeted with a concert by you and your friends. Absolutely amazing! I have so much respect for the amazing music you made! From the bottom of my heart thank you! I will forever be humbled for getting shushed by you and I’d like to explain the reason for being disturbing during your performance. We met a group of Scotts at Keem bay and they asked if we would drive their elderly mother to her car at the top of the hill since we were parked at the bottom. We said sure, if you trust a couple from Memphis, TN! We then went to the smallest pub in Achill Island, separately, where we ran into the group AGAIN. Then, late that night in your pub, we ran into them AGAIN and thought it was quite an Irish experience. So much so we made too much noise and got shushed! Honored to be shushed by you sir! Thanks again for a memory of a lifetime! Much love, Chris and...
Read moreWe came for the nightly session but didn't know they don't start till around 21.00. glad we got there about 19.30 so we got a seat next to the musician corner but people in there were so rude. Talking through when clearly says in that area it's for listening and people taking photos and videos up close with flash on - not cool. Then others complained it was busy - cause what you came for so did everyone else. So absolutely recommend for live traditional session music but don't come if you want to ignore that and want to talk to your mates and don't like crowds. If you get trad music sessions then this is the place in Westport! Drinks were the best price compared to others on the main road. I am uploading videos that were taken without flash as it should! Also please don't come in and sit at the musician corner at 20.45 and then be annoyed that you have to move - there are signs and the musicians don't rock up till after 21.00(I went...
Read moreVisited Westport with some friends this weekend and stayed in the quay which is beautiful although a bit of the way out of two - about a 25 minute walk. So got a taxi into town and the driver suggested this pub which turned out to be amazing! Small little bar with different rooms. Started with a more communal room and then into a smaller intimate room with live traditional Irish music. Into the back room was a live singer with a guitar playing a mix of Irish songs and iconic ‘sing along’ songs with a dance floor. Quick service at the bar and really friendly vibe, 5* would certainly recommend to all age groups out for...
