Went there today for a seafood boil. Not my first time trying it by the way . Made a booking for 16:45 and was called at about 3 pm to be informed that our boil won’t have any lobster on it due to suppliers not delivering. Was ok with that no issues, ask the person that was on the phone if I could replace the lobster with extra prawns or anything else they had available and he said that unfortunately that would not be possible but the price will automatically be reduced from 70€ to 50€ because of this and I accepted because I work in the same industry and I understand that sometimes this things might happen. Went there ordered the boil and I asked my server if we could order some extra sauce and sausage and we will pay extra at the end . Was served by 3 people , they brought the boil and there was nothing extra on it and I asked the lady if she could bring it to us and she said she will check in the kitchen if it was done or if the sausage was added . She didn’t come back but there was another girl on the floor and I asked her if she could check with her colleague if she was bringing the extras . In the meantime the other girl brought us the extra sauce and she had a plate of bread and asked us if we ordered extra bread as well and I said no , we only ordered the sausages and sauce extra . She apologised and took the bread back to kitchen. I understand that sometimes management can be busy with other things so I won’t complain about how unorganised the floor staff was and it wasn’t their fault. Ordered deserts as well, everything was ok . We asked the first guy that seeded us for the bill and he brought the bill with full price and I explained to him that there was no lobster on the boil and that we ware called by the restaurant to inform us that the boil will cost 50€ be a of this , he apologised and went back to the front where a blonde lady with long hair spoke to him and told him to charge us 10€ less . So basically I payed 10€ for an extra sauce on a seafood boil that had no lobster and no extra sausage was added . Not happy at all with the experience I had today, everything felt rushed . Management should communicate with the waiters when stuff like this happen and if they can’t or whatever the case is they should charge what they said they will charge . I would have preferred to leave a 10€ tip rather than paying 10€ for some 20 oz of sauce . Wasn’t my first time here but unfortunately it will...
Read moreKrewe would be one of my go-to spots in Dublin with regards to quality drinks and food but I was left with a bad taste in my mouth with the quality of service we encountered last weekend. Myself and the group of friends I was dining with on Saturday, July 22nd brought two umbrellas as it was bucketing out of the heavens all day. Upon arriving at Krewe we were asked to leave our wet umbrellas at the door, so I asked would there be someone there to watch them as I had a distinct bright turquoise umbrella from Roe & Co Distillery (that had my name on it), as well as a small, standard black Penney's umbrella (we all know the ones). Staff assured us that there would be someone keeping an eye so off we went to our table. We had a lovely meal, delicious drinks, and were delighted with our dining experience until it came to leave. We were seated at the back of the restaurant and it wasn't until we made our way to the front door that we saw the chaos the rain had caused, quite apart from the drenched customers huddling inside the front door, there must have been at least 30 umbrellas all thrown on the floor just inside the door. No sign of my Roe & Co umbrella, and about 10 identical looking black Penney's umbrellas all piled on top of each other. There was a waiter standing beside the pile of umbrellas, so I told him where we'd been sitting, and asked where our umbrellas were. His response was a shrug of the shoulders as he looked at the pile of umbrellas and told us if we left our umbrellas there then they must still be there. I searched through the umbrellas but my Roe & Co umbrella was gone, the staff offered no help, and took no responsibility for the loss. If anyone at Krewe sees this review you would do well to either let customers dry off their umbrellas and bring them to their tables or have a basic ticketing system in place to avoid future thefts at your premises. Especially since this summer rain shows no signs...
Read moreMy friends and I tried this spot recently for dinner. We had a group of 6 people and booked it with 5 days notice for an early Sunday evening meal. Although we had a lovely dinner and everyone enjoyed their food we found it a little off that they requested their table back after only 1 hour and 10 minutes. They also waited until half of the party went to the bathroom to ask if we wanted dessert, which was unlucky as we did in fact want to order some but the rest of our party didn’t… the waiter was very charming and good at his job but seemed disappointed that we wanted to take it slow and actually digest our food before moving on with drinks. I’ve worked many years in the service industry and have managed waiting staff of a restaurant in the past; I was a little surprised by how rushed we were by the staff within. Our bill came to over €200 and we were charged a service fee (which the waiter did say was optional) and although we paid it anyways as it’s only right to tip, I must say I was left very disappointed by how quick they were to have us out after only an hour when most of the tables around ours and the entire upstairs seating were empty, not to mention this was only at 7pm and they closed at 11pm. I don’t think I’ll be returning based on this although as I said the food was tasty but didn’t feel like authentic New Orleans style as they’re welcoming and serious about service in Louisiana and I should know as I lived there for a few weeks. Overall...
