McGettigans Bar — Restaurant in Dublin

Breakfast at McGettigans has become a key part of my weekend for the last year now. I think it's a hidden gem in Smithfield. Excellent ingredients cooked with care and consistency is all we can ask for.

The team also make McGettigans a go-to spot. Regardless of if I arrive alone or with a group, I always get a warm welcome and excellent service. It all goes down to Paul, the Manager who coordinates everything expertly. It's great to see a great working relationship with all the staff amd they treat each other with as much respect as their customers.

Fantastic pub that has recently received a refurbishment - and it shows. What a great job!

We went to visit on Sunday - a rainy, miserable, quite truly awful day. But McGettigan's Bar saw the end of that. Really great food; the kind of tasty food you want to eat. Simple, but deliciously well done. The beef stew is great, and a very generous portion too! Great value for money. Service was prompt throughout, as was the general ambiance of the bar.

Went in here to get some food, but the barman informed us that unfortunately they were not serving food that day - without even asking the barman recommended some places that he thought were good, and then gave us detailed directions on how to get there.
