Absolutely love the food here but every time we dine in or get a takeaway there is a significant delay and they forget dishes. I'm not exaggerating when I say it is everytime as well. We have never eaten food here in a timely fashion or had all of our dishes arrive.

Last night was the worst, we ordered online and delivery said 45 minutes. 75 minutes later the food was nowhere to be seen, we rang to check in and they said food would be another 30 minutes and we had to ring again 45 minutes after this to find out where the food was. The food was hot which leads me to believe they just forgot about our order before we rang. On top of this, when the food did eventually arrive there were multiple items missing, such as chicken 65, poppadoms, rice, aloo ghobhi.

Unfortunately it is a similar story when we dine in, dishes taking 45 minutes to arrive or items being forgotten or curries arriving without rice. We have dined many times and are always very nice and understanding about these mistakes even though we rarely receive an apology. However, last night was too far and that's why I'm leaving this review. We initially used to recommended to people for their authentic dishes and taste but unfortunately have stopped doing so because of...

We ordered our first delivery from Spice Village and it won’t be our last. The menu is extensive giving a lot of variety of dishes. The food was delicious albeit spicier than expected but in a good way & we enjoyed it. It would be good in the future to add a sign on the menu indicating the heat of the dish. We ordered Chicken Jalfrezi & Farmer’s Butter Chicken. We really enjoyed the food and it was not heavy at all compared to some restaurants. We highly recommend both dishes. Rice portions looked small but in fact the portions were spot on and there was no wastage compared to other similar take aways. Just to highlight that rice or naan are not included in the main dishes as per other restaurants ad need to be ordered separately. It would be good to mention this clearly on the menu. When I clarified this with the staff they thought I was looking for free rice (!) which was not the case , I only wanted to avoid a double rice order. As it’s only their second week of delivery a few blips. There were problems with paying online with debit cards for some reason. The food wasn’t labelled at all. This can cause confusion if it looks similar. Overall it was a great experience and we look forward to ordering some of the...

Disappointing Experience at Spice Village, Rialto

I visited today Spice Village, Rialto, and my experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, there was no warm welcome—the restaurant had only two other guests, yet no staff were present inside. Eventually, a staff member in a white shirt and black trousers arrived, but he lacked any enthusiasm or motivation.

He led me to a far corner table, right behind the other two guests, despite the restaurant being almost empty. When I requested a different table near a window, he refused, claiming those tables were set for four guests. There were no reserved signs, yet even after requesting twice, his response remained the same, leaving me with no choice but to sit where he directed.

The food quality was below average and certainly didn’t taste freshly cooked. Additionally, the chicken portion was far too small compared to the rice, making the meal feel unbalanced and disappointing.

Bottom line: Spice Village is not the same as before. The service needs serious improvement, and the quality must be enhanced if they wish to retain repeat customers. Not worth the visit in its...

Rating: 3.5/5 The buffet lunch was average in terms of quantity but excellent in quality. Here are some observations: Pros: 1. The taste of the food was exceptional. 2. The ambience was delightful and well-maintained. 3. Staff were courteous, and the service was top-notch. Cons: 1. The buffet had very limited options, and there was no clear communication about what was included—lacking transparency. 2. Only appam was served as a bread option with the buffet. 3. Unfortunately, the fish curry was disappointing in taste. 4. Reaching the restaurant by phone during the day to make a reservation was difficult, as calls were either unanswered or unreachable. 5. Only bottled beer was available—no tap beer. Overall: An okay experience. The quality of the food and service stood out, but the buffet lacked variety and didn’t justify the price. With a few improvements, especially in buffet offerings and communication, this place could offer much better value.

This was the first time I'm trying an Indian restaurant in Dublin. We were two people and we ordered Malabar Nikkah Chicken Biriyani, one porotta and Spice village beef roast initially. The biriyani was very delicious, flavourful. The chicken was well cooked and masala was very taste and a bit onion sweet. One thing I would specify next time is to make it a little more spicy, for the beef roast as well. The beef roast was well cooked and tasty as well. The porotta was soft, crisp and fresh. It was a very wonderful experience. After these I ordered one more porotta, unfortunately took them more than 10 minutes to prepare, don't know why. And I was asked to repeat what all we ate, 2 times, to two different people so that they could get the bill. The thing I didn't understand was, why the guy who took the order didn't note it down or something. These are the only two reasons why I would rate the service 2 stars. Otherwise it is a must try resturant.

Excellent new addition to the food scene in Dublin 8. They can be difficult to spot as they’re located above a pub. An ordinary looking curry house from the outside, but a really lovely family run restaurant offering authentic South Indian dishes on the inside šŸ˜€It’s good for casual meals and equally for an occasion. They market themselves as a street food joint which can make it seem like they only do small eats but it’s not the case at all. It’s a full fledged, fine dining restaurant with an a la carte menu. We tried the ghee roast dosa and a fish curry(can’t remember the name) with parottas (flaky flat bread). The food was delicious, served quickly, with friendliness, and attention to our spice tolerance šŸ˜‚ The dosa was one of the best I’ve had in Dublin. The prices were super reasonable. They have many South Indian dishes which you will not find in your average Indian restaurant. Highly recommend and will visit again!
