Zaytoon (زيتون) is the Arabic word for "olive." The olive tree is a common plant in the Mediterranean region, and its fruit is widely used for its oil, which has many culinary and health benefits. Olives are also often eaten as a snack or used as an ingredient in various dishes. In Middle Eastern cuisine, olives are a staple ingredient in many traditional dishes such as fattoush, tabbouleh, and hummus. Olives have also been mentioned in religious texts, and in some cultures, the olive branch is a symbol of peace.

Read moreIt pains me say this as Zaytoon has been one of my favourite for many many moon (granted Parliament St). Firstly the bill for family meal was €76 otherwise I wouldn’t even bother. Maybe a bad day or whatever but to be objective it was very quite and well staffed so I don’t think so but who knows what’s happening behind the scene. The food honestly was not very good, the Falafel was extremely bad a staple in Persian cuisine, the meat in mixed kebabs was l extremely dry and pretty tasteless unfortunately so that was disappointing. We were left short one main which was actually fine as there was plenty in the portion. The food sadly was far below average at best, the salad and sauce was sadly the best part on this occasion and that’s a first for me in this establishment. Positively, the staff (particularly the girl at the cash desk) were professional and pleasant and in fairness the place is spotless. The food however was of lower quality enough so to prompt me to make a negative review, not something I do lightly in this current climate. Save your few quid in my opinion or grab an early bird many good eatery’s in D6 or if it’s Persian you fancy eat...

Rice could be better, there is a type of Basmati rice named Deluxe or super deluxe which is more tasty and also smells much like Persian rice. All of the mentioned modifications won't affect the price for sure. I'll try other menu items next time and let you know about the taste...
