I happen to visit lately with my girlfriend, the ambience of the Indian restaurant was warm and inviting, with dim lighting and a cozy atmosphere that gave it a fine dining experience. The decor was elegant with beautiful artwork and Indian-inspired accents that added to the overall feel of the place. The restaurant's attention to detail extended to the presentation of the dishes, which were all beautifully plated and served with care and The Waiter was damn cheerful and descent. I tried: Lahori Fish Fry - The Lahori Fish Fry was absolutely delicious! The fish was fried to perfection and had a crispy outer coating with a soft and tender interior. The spices used in the marinade added a lovely kick to the dish without being too overpowering. The dish was served with a side of mint chutney which complemented the fish perfectly. Overall, a must-try dish for all fish lovers! Spice is less but you can still try.
Chicken Chilly - The Chicken Chilly was a delightful dish that had a great blend of spices and flavors. The chicken was cooked to perfection and had a crispy outer coating, while the inside was moist and tender. The spices used in the dish were well balanced and the addition of chutneys and sauce gave the dish a nice kick.
Mutton Nihari Gravy with Butter Nan - The Mutton Nihari Gravy was an absolute treat for the taste buds. The lamb was slow-cooked to perfection and had soaked up all the flavors of the gravy, which was rich and creamy. The dish had a perfect balance of spices and was not too spicy, which allowed the flavors to shine through. The butter nan was fluffy and had a nice buttery flavor which paired well with the gravy. But I had much better Nihari pakistani version in dublin it was 3/5 but overall I was amaze that the staff took my criticism and gave me a free ice cream that was handmade and it...
Read moreI recently moved into the area from the United States and was so excited to finally find a good middle eastern and Indian restaurant like Kinara. Back home my partner and I would always go to our favorite Indian restaurant for special occassions, dining on wine and naan till we were stuffed. Kinara reminded me of those many wonderful dates, and I am so excited to go back (and bring friends and family!).
The owner at the door was very welcoming, and we chatted for a few moments and he highlighted some of the day's specials while I was deciding whether I would sit or not. I had been wandering Ranelagh for the afternoon looking for a nice place for dinner, and his friendliness and welcoming helped me decide!
The wine and drinks menu was exquisite, and I settled with a fun classic of their Pina Colada. The cocktail was not overly sweet or thick, and had a wonderful citrus aftertaste that helped round out the mango and coconut mixings. They also offer an array of still, sparkling, and tap water (which I also needed since I had been marching around!).
I ordered one of their house specials, Palak Gosht, with a side of their sweet and nutty naan. Before my meal I was offered complimentary papadam and chutney. The papadam was crisp and warm, and the two types of chutneys were very tasty! One was sweet and mango based, while the other was more tart and lime-based. The Palak Gosht is a lamb-stew style dish with very rich, deep flavors. They serve Irish lamb and Irish beef unless otherwise noted. What I was most excited about was that the Gosht was legitimately spicy! It is SO HARD to find good spicy food out here in Dublin, let alone good Indian food. I was ecstatic that I finally had somewhere to clear my senses.
I'll probably be heading back today for dinner and more drinks....
Read moreThe best of restaurant experiences can be ruined by unfriendly staff and this was exactly the case here. The manager on the job looked quite irritated when we requested him to merge our tables, granted that it was our fault for telling him no one else will be joining us (but later 6 more people did) but he kept telling us that he had already booked the tables we had vacated. During our entire meal, the restaurant was mostly empty so I am unsure who he had booked them for and it almost felt like he was unwilling to assist us with our request by making excuses. The waiter serving us was borderline rude without crossing limits by showing an impatient attitude while taking orders.
With that said this takes nothing away from the professionalism of the staff or their ability to serve us, it was not a congenial experience that you would normally have but it was not bad either.
The food Kinara serves a fusion of Pakistani and Indian Cuisine. The Ambiance is amazing with and the atmosphere is good. The food was absolutely brilliant with amazing taste and texture. If you’re looking for a genuine Pakistani or Indian cuisine experience this would be an excellent option as the flavour is slightly modified to suit the European taste buds without losing the flavour. If you’re looking for the complete desi experience with the food being on the hot end of the scale make sure to tell the server and they will be more than happy to adjust their flavours to suit your desires.
The place is usually packed so I would recommend to make advance bookings in order not to be...
