I would have preferred to give at least 2 stars but I honestly couldn't
A group of 6 asked for a walk in table last Thursday evening, we were told it would take a few minutes for a table to become ready , so we returned in 15 mins
A table for 6 was waiting for us
When we sat down , we were directly under an air conditioning unit and our table was uncomfortably cold, we asked if it could be turned off , the response - "I'll turn it down but not off"
It was turned down but still, cold air was blowing down directly over the table, making it so uncomfortable for one guest we had to move around our seating plan so she could be further away from the cold air .
Then we made our order .....
One member of our group had spotted a specials list , which unfortunately had no dish description. So he asked the server if she could describe the dish he was interested in ordering .. "That's the south indian specials list, I haven't a clue whats in that"
I tried to order a Chicken Tikka Balti , I was told they don't do that . Was it chicken tikka masala I wanted ? I could have chicken tikka masala or chicken Balti... (I've been to hundreds of Indian restaurants and this has never been an issue) the server then said "I can give you a portion of chicken Tikka and a portion of Balti sauce" I told her that's what I was looking for and could you just mixed them up in a dish for me ... Nope! I had to order them separately and mix myself if I wanted
Anyway.... We waited for 35 mins for our drinks to arrive , 45 mins for poppadoms to arrive - at this point we told the staff we had an event to attend in 15 mins and will the food be out
"Your food is ready on the thing they serve it on in the kitchen" what ever that meant??
5 mins later , more poppadoms came out , no sign of food so we had to leave 65 mins into probably the worst dining experience I ever experienced .... Our server was shockingly uninterested in being helpful at all, even to the point of laughing when she couldn't answer...

I had my lunch at Spice of India in Galway yesterday, and here's a breakdown of my experience:
Booking and Opening Time: I booked a table for 1:15 pm, but the restaurant opened at 1:45 pm, causing a slight delay. It's something to be mindful of when planning your visit.
Ambience: The ambience was very casual, though a bit mediocre and lacking in the expected fun atmosphere. A notable drawback was the presence of dead and rotten flowers in the vase, which didn't contribute positively to the overall ambiance.
Service: Our server, an Indian girl, was the highlight of the experience. I would give her a solid 5/5 for her fast service, friendliness, and politeness. Her attentiveness added a positive touch to our visit.
Promptness: The best part of our experience was the quick service. Our food arrived at the table within 15 minutes, showcasing their efficiency.
Dish Ratings: -Dragon Chicken (Starters): Unfortunately, this dish received a 2/5 rating. It was deemed not good and was described as similar to chilly chicken but lacking in taste.
Tandoori Chicken (Starters): A rating of 3/5 was given. Despite extra turmeric in the marination, it was considered better than the Dragon Chicken.
Malabari Curry (Main Course):This dish earned a 4/5 rating. While good, it was mentioned that better versions have been tasted elsewhere.
Roast Chicken Curry (Main Course): Suggested by the server, this dish received a perfect 5/5 rating and was described as one of the best curries experienced in Ireland.
Malabar Parotha (Breads): The Malabar parotha was a standout, receiving a perfect 5/5 for being very authentic, tasty, and soft.
In conclusion, Spice of India offers a mixed experience with some areas for improvement in ambience and certain starters. The exceptional service and standout dishes like the Roast Chicken Curry and Malabar Parotha make it a place worth considering, especially for those seeking delicious...
Read moreItâs a pity that each restaurant allows only one review, as I can never resist the urge to leave another glowing one after each visit. From initially relying on old photos taken when our Indian friend first brought us here to gradually becoming familiar with the menu and exploring new dishes, weâve always been warmly welcomed by the staff. Every staff member is patient and always ready to offer thoughtful assistance, ensuring that those of us unfamiliar with Indian cuisine can order dishes we truly enjoy- they are truly the best!
The knowledgible head chef undoubtedly understands ingredients. His fried dishes are always crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside, served at just the right temperature. The stews are always perfectly cookedâsoft, rich, and full of flavor. Your plate is always warm. Not every restaurant pays such close attention to that many details.
Even though you can find a simple fried chicken dish in any country, the chef here still manages to make it unforgettable. All I want to say is that when someone truly understands ingredients, everything they create is just right. Here you can be the happiest diners, all you need to do is trust and fully enjoy the experience.
Once again, to the entire team, please accept my deepest respect as a diner.

Every time I came here, I was never disappointed. From the choice of ingredients to the seasoning to the temperature of the plate, each dish reveals the chef's exacting requirements and dedication. The chef was communicating with my taste buds, and it was so delicious that I wanted to cry. The service was also perfect, as a non-Indian customer, they were always attentive to each dish for us. I don't understand why this restaurant only has 4 points. I want more people to know about this place, because I can feel that they are doing it with care. i will always be your loyal...
