Truffle — Local services in Galway

I recently visited Trufle in Galway and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When we entered, two staff members were busy, one was spraying cleaner directly on the display cases that were filled with pastries (which was honestly quite off-putting), and the other was in the back. We weren’t acknowledged at all until another couple came in.

We decided to just order coffee, and while the coffee itself was very good, the service was terrible. After being handed our drinks, I went to sit down, only to be given a death stare by one of the staff. When I asked if there was an issue, she told me we couldn’t sit because our coffee was in takeaway cups, apparently only people with glass cups are allowed to sit. At that point, I was so annoyed I just left.

It’s a shame, because the coffee was excellent, but the lack of basic courtesy and the unhygienic handling near the food completely ruined the experience. I won’t...

The cakes might appear appealing, but the service is undeniably subpar.

I planned to place a substantial order, wanting nearly every beautiful cake on display in the box to go. When I inquired if I could indicate the ones I wanted, I received a disdainful look and was curtly instructed to refer to the names on the cakes.

It would not have been difficult for the staff member to simply turn her head and take a few steps. Instead, she expected me to navigate a crowded store and memorize the names of all the cakes I desired. This level of service is unacceptable for a business that presumably prides itself on customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I cannot recommend this...

Had the pleasure of visiting this shop today and I must say, I will most definitely be back! My friends and I stepped in just for coffees but the pastries/tartlets looked so delicious that we couldn't resist sitting in and indulging in some sweet treats! The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and Rebecca truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us decide which treats to try (all delectable by the way!) The shop itself is totally pristine and a perfect cosy spot to while away an afternoon people watching.
