This restaurant has a lot of potential and I was so excited to go but it didnât meet my expectations. For the positives - the vibe is good, the menu options are lovely, the amount of vegan options is amazing and the service was friendly.
In regards to the food - I wasnât expecting it to be 100% authentic but was expecting it to be pretty decent because of the reviews it has gotten.
I got the vegan fajita with the bean chilli. The toppings to go with the bean chilli fajitas seemed to be lacking. It wasnât so much how many were included but more in regards to the portions. And although flour tortillas is pretty common in most chain type Mexican restaurants or those with a less authentic vibe, corn tortillas would have been a nice change - I find they are a bit more authentic and the flavour so much better - and better yet the price point isnât much different.
The vegan nachos also could have used a bit more âflair.â They came with some dips but in regards to toppings, they just had vegan cheese on them. It would have been nice to see some onion, peppers etc.
For the price of the dishes, a more authentic experience would go along way and some more focus on the toppings and dressing of the dishes.
With all the being said, again - the service was good, the vibe was nice and the amount of vegan options is really amazing! Just a few little things I think would really elevate...
Read moreThis is by far the worst food Iâve ever eaten. We made Mexican food from the old El Paso kits from Dunnes that were better.
I ordered an enchilada which was the same as the burrito but with cheese melted. That is not what an enchilada is. Where was the enchilada sauce? They just dumped tomato sauce on top but that is not the same. It was also overstuffed and used flour tortillas. Enchiladas always have corn tortillas.
The burrito my bf ordered was too plain to finish. The sauce and chicken inside were both bland.
The âSpanish riceâ tastes like microwave Asian fried rice you buy at the store. You are supposed to cook the rice in the sauce. Iâm really convinced this is microwave rice.
Margaritas were fine but from mix. Pass on the margarita if youâre looking for an authentic tequila/triple sec/lime juice recipe.
Servers were nice and respectful, so I didnât want to complain to them about something out of their hands.
I truly believe only people that have never eaten Mexican food would give this place a good review. It feels like the owners have never stepped foot in a Mexican restaurant themselves. Please look up the difference between the Mexican dishes youâre offering, and...
Read moreThe food was tasty and well prepared but this is far from authentic Mexican food. To start the âMexicanâ rice is basmati rice with a curry type seasoning (very Indian in flavor). The âenchiladaâ was in a wheat tortilla and didnât actually have enchilada sauce on it. It had a salsa on top that was a little sweet and taste like fajita seasoning. The filling for the enchilada was also similar to fajitas as it was large pieces of seasoned chicken with peppers and onions with some mushrooms thrown in. The burritos is almost the exactly the same as the âenchiladaâ only the wheat tortilla was grilled. Also they do not have refried beans⊠at all⊠no refried beans⊠at all.
So take this place as a Mexican style eatery and you wonât be disappointed! I would wager that based on what we ate here, as well as other items available on the menu, the person that put the menu together was very familiar with making Indian food and translated this into the food...
