We wanted to love this place - super cute and right across from St John's Castle in Limerick. When we arrived at 2pm they were busy so we Sat outside. This was a mistake. They were actually understaffed - 1 waitress, 1 bartender and we think one manager. We had to go in to order and were told they would bring us our drinks. After 30 minutes we still did not have drinks so went in and asked - they quickly brought out our drinks and said our food was coming. After an hour and 15 mins we moved inside and we asked the waitress about our food. She said she would check on it but never returned to our table. After another 15 mins we asked her about it and she admitted they had lost our ticket and there was no food coming. The entire staff was running around with their heads cut off and no one even once stopped to ask if we had been served. Its too bad they could have this fully staffed and making much more money. Such a shame - we have a lot of friends visiting in the next year and we will tell them to steer clear of...

First time in Katie Dalys yesterday. The atmosphere was lovely and the Guinness was nice :) I was with two others and they ordered the fish pie and fish chowder and they were very happy with their meals. I ordered a veggie burger but requested it to be made vegan and the staff were very accommodating. It was ok...I took a star away because It said it was the 'beyond meat' burger (which is a brand of vegan meat imitation foods) on the menu but it tasted like some other (cheaper) brand. The bun was a bit stale and the chips were undercooked. I suppose I should be happy enough to have had a vegan option at all (as there often isn't in places like this) but I wish that didn't have to be the bar to aim for. I can't remember exactly the price of it but it was between €18-20 so would have hoped for...

A nice place for drinks with friendly staff but not sure about the food! A group of us went for lunch here and ordered the Limerick ham sandwiches at €8.50 a piece! They were truly awful. The bread was very, very dry and the sandwiches looked and tasted as though they had been made a day or two before. We were charged an extra €4 each for chips which on ordering the server suggested were included. There are much nicer and more affordable places in the city to eat. There were also some suspicious people wandering around the outdoor seating area. I would suggest minding your belongings while sitting outside. That said, it’s a lovely place for drinks with a view of the castle and there is a nice friendly atmosphere...

Very busy place. The decision was nice with some nice touches from history. However the food is limited and not very vegetarian friendly. No light foods that are suitable for vegetarian eaters. The soup seemed popular, and coats 5.50E.that is almost Dublin prices, and it is probably because it is next to the castle. The staff on hand were slow with serving and could have a better communication system. They're were times where I had to give them a hand to keep things in order. Not much smiling or friendly staff, only polite.

Comfortable neighborhood bar I would love to spend more time in. We stopped in for lunch and a pint. We sat inside but they have an enclosed outdoor area plus outdoor seating with umbrellas. When our server arrived, he took our drink order and let us know that the Bootlegger Cheeseburger is not frozen. So that’s what I got. My wife ordered the Treaty City Ale Battered Fish and Chips. Everything came out promptly and hot. We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return soon.

Excellent food, very attentive and friendly staff, very nice ambiente. Prices are a bit steep (19€ for fish and chips), but since the quality of the food is so good, it is tolerable. We were there when they had two musicians playing Irish traditional music - very nice. If you can, pick a day for your visit, whenever there is live music, it really makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
