Edit added for the owners reply: We told you we ate one of the starters and poppadums otherwise how would we find the hair?? Think about it! You are now replying with lies that we have tried this with other Indians in Bray? Dont make me laugh. You seem to have spoken to them all very quickly since this incident just happened today. And how would identify me with them seeing as it was my husbands name used on our order? You are just showing yourself to be a vicious liar who serves unsafe food and who has no idea how to run a legitimate business. The reason we had to call so many times is because there were so many problems with our order. And you do swap food out rice for naan or vice versa - you have done it with our last ten orders :) I look forward to hearing how your Health and Safety visit goes and I also look forward to the day Daata puts you out of business - have a good day :)
Absolutely horrific customer service - the worst I have ever seen in my life. We WERE regular customers of this restaurant for collection and delivery but I would rather chew rocks than eat a bite of food from this place again! We placed an order for food for delivery - problem number 1 “ we won’t have a driver for at least another hour so we will send it when we have one” bit annoying but we said fine. Problem number 2 - we asked for some modifications to our order they agreed for some and some not - we said fine. Problem number 3 - we received the food. Chicken tikka starter so dry that I almost choked on a piece and had to spit it out! When I called to complain about the food I mentioned that it usually comes with some lemon so it’s not so dry. Was told “no those were just free in the past but not now”. Ok so the normal of garnish with a dish is now an added extra. Very strange but we still said fine. Problem number 4 - drinks we ordered were not delivered. Told the lady on the phone that at this stage we were getting annoyed with this experience but she said she would send them with the driver whenever he had a delivery in our area. So not right away but when they had another delivery in the area. Still we said fine! We went back to eating our food and what do we find? A HUMAN HAIR embedded into the poppdums. First we wondered was it belonged to me but there were pieces of poppadum going though the hair so we were sure that it came from the restaurant. Here’s the kicker - when we reported this to the restaurant we were first dealt nicely with the lady on the phone but when we asked for a refund she passed the phone to a man who was honestly the rudest man I have ever encountered in my life. He did not let me explain the issue but kept talking over me and told ME to stop talking over HIM. He also accused of us of placing the hair there ourselves - is he joking!!! “You just want freebies” and “I see people like you every day”we said ok we will contact health and safety and he said “don’t threaten me with health and safety” he was a horrible person to deal with and I would not give this restaurant another cent of our money. If he will look at our order history we have at least 10 orders in the last few weeks so he should know we don’t need “freebies”. He prefers to insult his customers than serve them good food. Zero out of five stars will never eat here again. We have reported the “restaurant” to the FSAI as this was an absolute disgrace of...
Read moreFood Review for Chicken Tikkha Dish:
I recently had the opportunity to try the chicken tikkha dish at a restaurant. Unfortunately, my experience with it was quite disappointing. The chicken in the dish was not fully cooked, which is a serious concern when it comes to food safety. The undercooked chicken not only compromised the taste but also posed a health risk. Proper cooking techniques are essential in ensuring that the chicken is safe to consume and has the right texture.
Moreover, the flavor of the chicken tikkha was unexpectedly sweet, which is not typical for this spicy dish. Chicken tikkha is traditionally known for its bold and fiery flavors, derived from a blend of aromatic spices. The presence of excessive sweetness in the dish suggests an imbalance of ingredients or improper seasoning, which detracted from the authentic taste that I was expecting.
Food Review for Jalfrazy Dish:
In addition to the chicken tikkha, I also ordered the jalfrazy dish. Unfortunately, this dish also fell short of my expectations. Firstly, it lacked the promised spiciness. Jalfrazy is known for its intense and fiery flavors, featuring a robust blend of spices that should awaken the taste buds. However, the version I had was surprisingly mild, with a lack of that characteristic spiciness that defines the dish.
Furthermore, the jalfrazy dish was not fully cooked. It is important that all components of a dish, including the sauce and the meat, are cooked thoroughly to ensure optimal taste and texture. The lack of proper cooking not only affected the overall flavor but also made the dish...
Read moreThe following was removed from Google's reviews as a "fake" review, when it's 100% genuine, and I was a long-standing customer, so I have to question the Curry Leaf's motivation in having critical (yet 4-star reviews) taken down.
Since I posted the review below I have been served with a Balti that was so bad (microwave reheat - one can always tell by the effect that microwaving has on capsicum peppers), that I have now revised my review down to one star and will never be using the Curry Leaf again.
(BTW, should the Curry Leaf wish to check the authenticity of my review, they will find my name in their ordering system, but my forename is spelled incorrectly, "Canor" I think.)
Original review:
The food is almost always excellent, though it can vary. The staff are always polite and helpful. Some items on the menu aren't described accurately, such as the chicken korma, which promises chicken cooked on the bone, when it's actually cooked on skewers.
But the Curry Leaf's staff really need to learn how to use their online ordering system properly, as they always state that orders will be ready to collect in 15 minutes, even if they aren't ready for far longer. It's extremely frustrating having to hang about for 30 minutes for my order when I live close by. If an order is going to take 40 minutes then they should say so in their app, which...
