Fabulously tasty fish and chips. Visited on a busy sunny Sunday in June 2025. Highly recommend their Haddock - such flavour and so filling. Lots of other items on menu too. Food was placed into a box, wrapped and sealed with stickers. Easy to unwrap. Box contained a large and small piece of beautiful haddock in crispy batter, accompanied by chips and sides of mushy peas, tartar sauce and a wedge of fresh lemon. Restaurant quality food in a take away is how I’d describe it. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Once upon a time, Eunice Power (founder) set out to elevate the humble chipper and by this experience I would say it is mission accomplished, Eunice. To describe this place as a chipper actually does it a disservice. Although the place is small, it is possible to eat in, however it is at a breakfast bar type arrangement. Condiments and wooden utensils are available and there’s even somewhere to wash hands after your meal. Definitely a step above the usual chipper. I will definitely be back for more. Saw scampi on the menu last time so I’ll be having some of that please!
Update: 8/7/2025 visited with family and tried their scampi. All I can say is - delicious!! Cooked to perfection, in a light breadcrumb (perhaps panko but not sure). I tried them with the spicy sauce that accompanied my wife’s chicken goujons and it elevated them to another level. If ordering again I’d request this sauce instead of tartar or mushy peas. Only negative was inconsistency in quality of chips. We had four chip portions in our order and only one was correctly cooked. The remainder were oily to varying degrees, some inedible but most were acceptable and were devoured greedily.
Seating outside is extremely limited. The establishment shares the quayside with another restaurant and both have picnic tables with covers provided. However, only two tables are available from And Chips and are brown in colour. The remaining are blue and belong to another restaurant. Next time I think I’ll take my camping chairs, a bottle of vino and set up overlooking the harbour....

We decided on Wednesday that we would make the 99km trip from Enniscorthy to Dungarvan on Thursday for our tea on the quay from AndChips. We had wanted to visit for a while but didn't have the opportunity until now. Because of covid 19 and a serious illness we have been cocooning since February. We decided to go somewhere nice once a week during the summer instead of going on holiday.
We parked on the quay and strolled to Andchips soaking up the atmosphere of the area. We had decided to order different fish so we could share. We had ling goujons and hake. The lady who took our order was lovely and friendly and very helpful. We waited outside on socially distancing seats until our order was ready. When we got our food everything was in the bag ready to go. Salt, vinegar, napkins and individually wrapped forks beside two boxes of delicious fish AndChips! We eagerly walked along the quay to a bench where we sat down to enjoy our tea on the quay! Eunice came to say hello and to thank us as she had heard how far we had travelled. We had a chat and she hoped we would enjoy the food.
The box was filled with chips, golden battered fish, tartare sauce, mushy peas and a lemon wedge. We swapped pieces of fish so we could each taste the others choice. The ling goujons were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. Flaky white flesh in a light crispy batter that crunched when you bit into it. The hake was equally as good with the batter still crispy to the very last bite, a testament to the quality. The tartare sauce was so delicious I got the other half's tub too! The chips were crispy and dry and full of flavour. They really were delicious and tasted of more and we ate more than we should have!!
We really had a lovely evening. The food was fantastic and the joy of eating it by the harbour enhanced the whole experience. We are really looking forward to another visit soon. Thanks AndChips for serving...
Read moreUsually wouldn't post a negative review but I think after giving this place a fair shot for the last year its time to say something. It's over priced for what you get. Yes gluten free is fantastic and Its about time getting gluten free food in a takeaway is available. But I honestly don't see any kind of quality control happening. Ordered last night, yes it was busy so we didn't mind the 20 minute wait that we were told after we paying... You already had the money so. But the wait ended up being over an hour. Other customers had items missing from orders while we waited which left us conscious of checking our own when we got to the car. The food was lukewarm when we opened the bag to check,by the time we got home the chips were just about edible because they were not close to being hot when we left, I live less than a 5 minute drive from and chips. The spice bag was genuinely further from a spice bag than anything I've ever had, no spice, no chilli's and it had to have only been Thai 7 spice. You can buy better spice bag seasoning in local shops. The chicken in it is thigh meat, no flavour, chewy and greasy. Chips were soggy, seemed as if we got the ends of what no one wanted. The only semi decent thing we got from our order were the chicken goujons but even they were over cooked and clearly had been cut to check if they were cooked. 90% of our food was soggy from grease. Nothing was hot. Other chippers offer better quality for a better price. Genuinely believe the chipper has been over exaggerated about how amazing it is. We won't...
