Anchor Bar — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Dungarvan — Lismore

Two days ago, I rang this establishment at 4.30 pm to ask what time they served food until and they told me 5.30pm. We arrived at 5.20pm and the waitress was collecting the menus from the tables. I asked for one and she gave me one. Several minutes later she came to me and said the kitchen is closed. I told her it's only 5.25pm and that I specifically rang ahead to find out what time they served food until. She then came up with the biggest most laughable lie, "the chef has gone home". There was a couple sitting beside us eating their food and they told us that the owner was in the building and to go over to him/her. We were so annoyed, we just left and went elsewhere. Shocking carry on from both the chef and the waitress. If they behaving like that when the owner is onsite, who knows what goes on there when the owner is off site. Thoroughly...

Went with 2 friends on Wednesday 8 September. Ordered 2 cooldrinks and a tee. The tee was served in a card board cup and had 2 teebags in. My friend immediately asked the server if they don't serve tee in a pot, as she drinks very week tee. Was told not and my friend asked for another tee. Told the server to bring hot water and the teebag on the side. Came back with the teebag in the cup again Ordered 2 fish and a crimped chicken burger. Well was the worst piece of absolute oily fish we every had. Tasted disgusting and the chicken on the burger were burnt on the one side and dried...

Got seated easily - quite a few things not available on menu! Food arrived at numerous different times. One of the party had a big hair through the wrap and sent it back. No apology at the time. Soup and Toastie ordered together and toastie arrived about half an hour later. When all of the group had finished they arrived over with a replacement wrap to replace the one with hair in it. We were about to leave so it was sent back. When we went to pay the staff member at the bar was very short and rolled his eyes when we asked if it was on the bill. Not a great...
