Interlude Restaurant — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Dungarvan — Lismore

We have just returned from a meal in the Interlude Restaurant which was recommended to us . The setting is simply wonderful and a table outside was superb as the weather was fantastic. We ordered the mussels for my daughter as she loves them . However when they arrived at the table she looked at me and I knew something was wrong . At least 3/4 of them were not opened which to me meant they were either not cooked properly or they were not fresh . I pointed it out to our waitress who immediately took them away and said she would get another portion . After a little while she returned with another portion . Now after our first experience you would think they would check this portion was ok , but to my amazement they were the same 3/4 of them not opened . I know the place was busy but that is no excuse. You cannot serve food which was either not cooked properly or not fresh ( dead before cooking ) . I called the waitress once again and at this stage we had lost all faith in the mussels which was a shame as my daughter loves them . She once again apologized and asked if we would like something else instead. We just ordered desert and paid the bill ( no charge for mussels) . Upon paying the bill we were not even offered an apology for the substandard mussels or how the rest of our meal was . I could not recommend this restaurant from...

Food was not good at all, presentation was awful and extremely overpriced based on the quality of it.

We ordered a burger that supposedly came with wedges, but we were given fries taken out of the freezer. We complained and we then got wedges that essentially were baked potatoes with no condiment at all.

The burger itself was falling apart, so it seems the bread was not only not fresh but not warmed properly.

The chicken wings we ordered were poorly prepared, it looked like they just sprinkled curry powdered and poured a sauce on the side, that was jellied due to being stored for a long time in the fridge.

I genuinely thought we had ordered a fish soup so I was shocked when they told me it was actually a fish pie!

Food was OK, for freezer oven-ready/make-at-home type of meal, but unacceptable when each meal is above 17€!

We asked for a hot chocolate for takeaway but they didn't even have disposable cups. They tried to sell us "reusable...

my wife wanted to eat here as she ate here before and thought it was nice, we had a meal outdoors last weekend as the weather was nice and we were starving, we were very dissapointed with our meal, there was no roast being served even though it was on the limited menu-my wife ordered something nachos with chicken and chorizo, there was no chorizo and the dish was just a plate of doritoes with a small bit of chicken for 15 eur. My cod goujons for 18.95 were tastless and i wasnt expecting some prawns in batter thrown in which wasnt great , neither dish looked very appetising and i felt i would have got alot nicer at the local chipper for alot less, we left dissapointed and didnt feel that we got value for money. We got a nice big pot of tea which was good,Service was ok in fairness but would have liked if the waitress had brought out some kethchup with the fish and chips. Sorry...
