My husband, I and children dined here for the first time on a bank holiday Monday although we have previously eaten at their sister restaurant People's in Cavan town. My husband and I both had the 2 course early bird at €29. Our children (aged 3 & 5) picked the burger and chips to share from the children's menu at €9.50 which fed them both generously. I really liked the healthy side options on the children's menu and was impressed to see Sirloin steak as an option here as well. Kudos to you regarding this. For starters, I chose the Ginger beer battered prawns with a €3 supplement. Very good and flavoursome. My husband couldn't pass the chicken satay which he loved: it was melt in the mouth and praised it highly. He also gifted me a taste: it lived up to the high praise!! For mains, my husband went for the Luvida's Thai chicken curry with rice (chips extra at 1.50). He reported that the heat builds as you progress with the curry. The sweat was running off him by the end. I decided on the Luvida's Southern Fried Chicken Burger with all the trimmings and extras and side of sweet potato fries. I finished the burger but couldn't manage the sweet potato fries. Without me asking, the waitress kindly offered the fries to takeaway which we opted for. We were too full for dessert but I would have gone for the black forest cheesecake had I had space. For drinks between us, we had water for the table, some Dilute at €1, a Bramble cocktail at €11.95, Tanqueray and tonic for €8.90 and a non alcoholic Erdinger at €6.25. We were really impressed with the food and service here and how accommodating they were to our children. We will return and would highly recommend. Keep doing what...
Read moreCouldn't have had a more pleasant night! We were there on a busy Saturday Night to celebrate my sister's birthday. We were greeted warmly at the door a gentlemen took our coats and scarves.
Out server Aaron was friendly and welcoming, and couldn't have been more helpful. Very accommodating of the two dietary requirements in our group (nut allergy and vegetarian) and made sure nobody was left waiting for their meal as often happens when special requests have to be put in. The place was warm, spotlessly clean and well presented with salt lamp tealights and fresh flowers on the table. The food was delicious! Not a fault to be found!
At the end of the night the table next to us had a birthday dessert brought out and a chorus of happy birthdays sang. Whilst paying our bill we joked that my sister, who's birthday we were celebrating, was put out by the lack of song on her behalf (we didn't say anything to the server, and weren't looking for any candles or fuss!). Well we couldn't have been more surprised when Aaron caught us at the door to offer her a take-away box with a brownie and a happy birthday message written in chocolate! A kind and memorable gesture from Luvida as a whole!
Will definitely be back, and will be recommending...
Read moreVery disappointed with this restaurant's service recently. They serve a very small portion of chips with the mains, one of which was knocked over by the server, who then picked them up by hand, put them back into the "bucket" and then fired plates down on the table, which were not hot. When I questioned the portion of chips being too small, he looked at me as if this was a strange statement to make. He spoke with another server, who then stood over our table, with four people at it, to say it was a "standard portion" in a very rude and condescending manner. I again asked for another portion to be provided, which they did at an additional €4.50 charge. A standard portion of chips elsewhere was then €9. The food that was served seemed to be to a good standard until we found a hair embedded in one of our meals. This was pointed out and the meal was changed. We eat out regularly at weekends and 9/10 places do ok and I fully understand it is not an easy business but I feel Luvida Navan could do better on a few fronts. The first one being service staff on...
