To say that this restaurant was a surprise is an understatement. If you are in the area and are not looking for a romantic venue, don't let the surroundings turn you down but trust the reviews and try out this place. One of the most authentic Italian experiences I have ever had in Ireland. That starts from the name "osteria" which used to be used to describe a place serving delicious and affordable food following recipes that your grandma would prepare for you. The look & feel is very curated and it makes it stand out in the location where it is situated. Of course there are the symbolic chequered table clothes. Like in real Italian restaurants, you are given a basket of breadsticks to nibble away while you wait for the food to be served. Also as per tradition, the menu is hand written. Here, I was told, it changes every week. Good thing, really good thing. The carbonara I was brought was well prepared and the portion very generous. Don't let the photo I took trick you because what you see there is half a portion (I forgot to take the picture before starting to eat). I found the guanciale very tasty but personally I found the plate missing some taste. I added pepper & pecorino twice and I felt it was still missing something. My friend even ended up adding salt. I loved the idea of tiramisù with marsala. It was good but there too, I would have loved a stronger taste. Maybe some more sugar? I was grateful to the 2 waitresses (both Italian and very gentle) for preparing for me my favorite coffee variant, "lungo", which is so rare to be found in Ireland. Lovely touch that they added to the coffee a Grisbí biscuit instead of the still delicious but too common Biscoff.

recently dined at this delightful small Italian gem, and it exceeded all expectations! The aroma of freshly made pasta filled the air, promising an authentic experience. The chef's special, Carbonara, was a flavor explosion – perfectly balanced and rich. The Pesto Pasta showcased the freshest ingredients, elevating it to a culinary delight. The attentive service added a personal touch, making the evening truly enjoyable. To conclude, the Tiramisu was a heavenly finale, leaving my taste buds dancing. Every bite resonated with the genuine essence of Italian cuisine. A hidden treasure with a warm ambiance, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and delightful Italian dining experience. Grazie mille for an unforgettable meal!

What an amazing place! Cozy and warm, it feels like home. I’m so happy I finally got around to checking it out. I’m definitely going to be popping in every now and again! We’ll definitely be coming back to try your pasta. It’s run by a lovely family from Rome, so you know you’ll get the real Italian food here. I had a lovely chat with Michela, who was kind enough to tolerate my rusty Italian. 😄 She told me the story behind their business, and it’s truly inspiring. I felt like I met an old friend. That’s priceless. One thing I absolutely loved about the place is Italian music. Finally I can come to an Italian restaurant and enjoy some music, too! I hope you guys will grow and become even more successful! Ci vediamo! ❤️

This is a gem of an Italian restaurant hidden away at the back of an industrial estate near the centre of Waterford City. You'll need to navigate on yiur phone to find it but that's half the fun. Don't let the industrial landscape put you off, inside the restaurant is surprisingly well appointed and laid out. The great value menu is written on the board at the entrance and changes daily. The staff are very pleasent and welcoming in a natural unpretentious way. You get a sense they're happy to work there serving great food. I had the basil pesto pasta and it was fantastic. They produce a range of Tiramisu desserts that can be eaten in or can be purchased for takeaway. They're magnificent. This restaurant is the epitome of unpretentious top class casual dining. I will be back. I hope this review persuades you to take a wander in search...

We arrived in pretty early think we were the 2nd table so it was quietish, lady serving us was only after starting . Bit nervous she was, my wife comes from bar service background so knows the drill reasured her when we asked a question and she needed to go find out the answer. We all have to start somewhere. We need to understand this and the world would be a better place. Anyway.... on to the food we don't speak Italian so I asked for a meat dish my wife had carbonara absolutely smashing both were. Good size portion my wife brought home some of hers as pasta is very filling. We brought home our tiramisu and to say it was beautiful is an understatement. Menu changes weekly aswell any staff we talked to greeted you with a smile and only happy to help. Will we be back most definitely Thanks for the feed...
