This spot is awesome! We came a bit before it opened but it opened about twenty minutes late due to being understaffed. Since we were there before, we were immediately seated which was great because as we were eating, the restaurant became super full. We got a menu and there were a lot of choices, but I asked for recommendations which were helpful. I asked for the most popular dishes, and a friend and I shared the siske and kebab as a result. The pastries were served with nine little sauces, including schug which was spicy and delicious and definitely my favorite sauce, hummus, two containers of tahini, tomato sauce, chimichurri, olives, carrots, sweet pickles, and one that I forgot. The pastries were freshly baked in their brick oven, and it was delicious. I really enjoyed them, and there was a ton of meat inside. The flavor of the kebab was stronger than the siske which is why I liked it more, but both were very tasty. I would definitely come here again! At around 52 shekels including tip, it was quite a pricey meal but worth it. I would definitely...
Read moreWe went with a group of 4 people to the restaurant and the food overall was alright but the service & hygiene standards seem really bad.
The waiter took quiet long for our orders and didn't show much interest in us. When the waiter served our drinks, he was holding the glasses in a way that he touched the top inner and outer part of our glasses. When we told him that this is not the way to hold drinks and that its unhygienic, he didn't seem to understand or care. Once the food was ready and served, he handed us the cutlery in a similar manner, by having his hands all over the top of the fork and the knifes. Again we confronted him that it is unhygienic and we didn't get any reaction.
Sad to say that everyone in our group, had really bad stomach problems, which seem like food poising, the following day. It's been 5 days now since we went to the restaurant and all of us are still sick and we have get checked for salmonella poisoning the...
Read moreWe came as a group of 9 people. Sitted on the 2nd floor. Music was so loud that we had to shout. once we asked to turn it down, she refused. The waiter brought 2 dishes that we didnt order and then he argued that he double checked with us (which of course didnt happen), we asked for 7 first dishes and he brought only2, again arguing that that wasnt the original order and we waited 10 more minutes. after a few minutes they turned the music even louder. at the end of that luch they brought a desert on the house but the waiter "didnt know what it is" according to him, instead of checking with the kitchen. we told him that we have 2 tables then it will be nice to add another desert and he refused. so, we left the desert there (9 people want be able even to tast it). to sum it up: instead of having a taste of Machne Yehuda tour we decided to sit at Ishtabach - but non of us will return and we wont sit there anymore at a company event....
