It was like going to grandmas for lunch, in the best way possible. One of a kind atmosphere, extremely kind owner (her English was better than mine), off the beaten path location, excellent value… they even fed me some of the food they were cooking their family for dinner to accommodate my diet! Highly recommended. Ps, After you eat, take a left out the restaurant, head to the end of the alley, then up the stairs and to the trees for a wonderful view of the city.

Absolute gem tucked away in the side streets of Jerusalem, illuminated by fairy lights. Such a lovely lady who runs the cafe, always smiling, prepared us mint tea and hand rolled and cooked falafel right in front of us. I got one falafel pita (which was delicious) but she even put an extra 2 falafels on the side for my mum to try. Beautiful stone interior and pretty patterned tables.

This is a little magical place. The decor is home-felt and nostalgic, food is fresh and yummy, and the best part is the owners. You feel their warmth, good nature and authenticity right away. Had my first sahlep here today. It was really good. And do you know that “Teta” means “grandma” in Arabic? If my grandma had a restaurant, I think it would be as lovely as this one!

This is a little gem of a place on a tiny side street off the David Street souq that we found based on these very Google Maps reviews. When you find St. Mark Street, that is where you go even though it doesn’t look like it goes anywhere. It is as charming as claimed. Order inside and it is either takeaway or eat on the tables inside or on the street. Grandma (Teta) cooked our falafel fresh and the sandwiches were as good as any we’ve had anywhere. Sitting outside on a quiet street for dinner was a relief after a hectic day in...

This is the best felafel I've had, no cap.

The cafe is family owned and you can see how much heart and soul they put into every detail, from the cafe interior (they gutted the place and renovated it themselves), to the FRESH made felafel using a family recipe and unique spices, and even the way they take time to press the felafel balls into the pita to ensure you get a taste of it with every bite.

1000/10 would recommend. If you're in the Old City you don't want to...
