As we planned our first Trip to Tel Aviv we decided to follow the recommendation on Instagram and check out the hidden gem in Tel Aviv. The food was quite OK, the waitress in the beginning also friendly - BUT - when we decidet to get the check, one male waiter decidet to shame us to the ground. My Mom, who I made the trip with, wanted to pay. It was our first night in Tel Aviv and we didn´t know the exchange-rate in Shekel by heart, but my Mom rounds up every bill a nice amount. This waiter stared us to death and didn´t want to take our money because it wasn´t 15% tips. What an outrageous behaviour - I NEVER EXPERIENCED SOMETHING LIKE THAT!! I travelled the world and I never met this kind of unfriedly and unrespectful waiter like we did this evening. How on earth can some person shame 2 tourists like that???? Why on earth don´t want to take a waiter the money and the tips but refuses to accept the amount of Tips we are giving??? We were SPEACHLESS!!! I have been waiting on tables for many years but never would I ever decide to shame the tourists in front of me for not giving the amount of tips I expect. We were so angry and speechless at the same time, we couldn´t find the words.
A Tip is something every person decides on his/her own, what to give. NOBODY can have the right and tell a paying guest who much Tips he/she needs to give. Shame on you!!! Horrible behaviour. My mom was shook...
Read moreWhen I was 21, I came to The Prince with a tourist friend from Argentina for one last drink before her flight home. The bar was mostly empty, but we were stopped at the entrance by a waitress who asked our age. I answered honestly, and we were told we couldn’t enter because we were "too young."
What confused me is that just a week earlier, I visited the same place with another friend—same age—and had no issues. No one asked our age, and we were let in without question.
I politely explained that we were only looking to have one beer before heading to the airport, and that it was a shame for this to be her final impression of the city. I even asked to speak to the shift manager, who I could see sitting nearby, but she refused to come over or address us directly.
Since that night, I’ve chosen not to return to The Prince—and I won’t, even if my age is now suddenly acceptable. The inconsistency and dismissive attitude left a...
Read moreFirst things first, make a reservation cause this place is poppin like the fireworks on the fourth of July (that's an American reference). Now, let's talk food cause that's what really matters. Do order: churros. Keep in mind, people can mess up churros despite the common misconception that everything fried and dipped in sugar is always good. But, they got it down down baby. However, do not, and I repeat, do not order the lentil fritters because they have less flavor than air and they will make you lower your rating by more than one star. Other items to order- fish tacos, Carmel market salad and maybe the eggplant fries- if you really really like fried and super breaded vegetables. The egg rolls are not authentic egg rolls, but we liked the way they rolled. All in all- a good experience but probably better to eat elsewhere and crown the prince...
