Not a good place to visit at all. I'm not sure that waiters know what is politeness and know how they should act with guests. We arrived to the cafe, waited like 20 minutes to sit we sat and did the order. We were sitting next to the entrance of the cafe (that was the table that we haven't chosen or reserved). While we were waiting for the meals I was punched at my chair literally like 20 times that is not nice at all. A few times I was pushed at the chair by waiters without apologies. After 20 minutes of waiting only for coffees we finally got them. All of the people at the cafe were sitting very close to each other what is generally normal for places like that BUT the waiters don't have to ask me to move my chair every time that they are going to another customers (there was another way to go from another side but just lazy for them to do it :) ) Also the coffee for the girls sitting next to us was passed over our heads what is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. We got our meals, ate and asked for bill. When the waiter came she asked us at first "would you like to leave a tip?" (Without asking us if everything was good at all) I said yes, but by cash (we paid for the meals by card). After we paid for meals I got one more question from the waiter about the tip and answered the same. She left and we checked for the cash and realized that we don't have enough cash money for the tip to leave so decided not to leave less than 10% of the bill. We stood up and went to the exit. The waiter that was serving us was standing at the exit and abruptly stopped us. She asked us for the third time if we want to leave a tip. I told her that we checked and noticed that we don't have cash money. (She was angry by the way). After that she asked "So u want to leave a tip by the card" I said no. She was dissatisfied and told" This is not good at all that u guys told that you are going to leave a tip and didn't leave it, and if so, don't come back" Is it normal to talk like that to the customers, I DON'T THINK SO... You should deserve your tips and not to get them for your rudeness and unprofessionalism. If you want to waste your time and get a bad mood for the day so...
Read moreCafe Xoho is very conveniently located closed to the beach area a couple of blocks from the marina. It's 30m from Ben Yehuda Street where you can find many nice options for a quick bite in not so touristic environment. The place itself is very well taken care of and has a cool, alternative vibe and seems to attract equivalent customers. It has a bar which serves cocktails and a menu to address many different tastes in the "quick bite" context. Both outside and inside there are tables and space to serve small-medium groups.
I had the egg and cheese bagel and can't recommend it enough. It was actually a suggestion from the waitress who was very helpful and professional (not the best representation of the happy face style though). Both the ingredients and the overall flavor were really good even for someone who, like me, is not the biggest cheese fan. The presentation is also good in the context of the place and type of food (alternative and relaxed).
Price wise, seems fair for what I saw around: 60 NIS for the bagel, a coke and tip.
In the staff I heard people talking Hebrew, English and Spanish as well as another language which I couldn't identify.
In summary, I highly recommend the place both for couples and couples with kids. From the few places of this style I have been to in Tel Aviv, this one takes my favorite...
Read moreCafeXoho is a great place. I was doing some wandering in the neighborhoods near my hotel and came across this establishment. They have indoor/outdoor sidewalk seating but unfortunately, The road is currently under construction which does slightly detract from the outdoor ambiance but nothing I haven't experienced in other big cities. Construction aside the cappuccino was great and the food was even better. I got the beer bread dish which was delicious although I did ask for Sunnyside up on the eggs and got over medium less runny yolks than I prefer. Other than this very insignificant detail, I will be returning during my trip and I look forward to trying other dishes and their awesome-looking desserts which were visually amazing. I highly recommend CafeXoho if you're visiting the city. Great coffee food and desserts(visually at least). The staff also speaks fluent English so it's def very tourist friendly. I even heard one of the servers speaking Spanish so that language may be an...
