Fronte Mare — Restaurant in Alassio

Firstly, I want to start this review by saying, whatever bad reviews there are, they are not true. The price is incredibly low for the quality, if I didn’t know the price of my food, I would’ve said more than 50 euros for each. Hospitality was great. Not even in the restaurant, we had to wait a bit because it was full, the waiter complimented my tshirt and made us laugh for a bit before getting a table. Then, for atmosphere. The space is honestly calm and there were breathtaking views of the sea, especially with the sunset. Food was excellent, best food I’ve eaten in Italy, hospitality was the best, all the waiters were amazing. 10/10 but would’ve given it even more if I could. A great spot for tourists and natives. Beware… although it’s a fish restaurant nothing on the menu is fresh!! Everything marked with an * is frozen. I.e 80% of the menu. May look busy but it is really below average food. Our mistake for ending up here which we will regret for ever. Bland over cooked fish with no seasoning. Slimy skin, underwhelming vegetables. No real chefs here - only cooks!! Frankly just awful. For the last two years my fiancée and I took a break from work and spent a weekend in Alassio, and for the last two years we’ve been dining on the sea front. This is a beautiful restaurant on the sea side where you can enjoy good quality food and generous portions at a fair price. All is served by a very nice and polite yet attentive staff. Definitely a place to try when in Alassio!
