Ristorante Il Gabbiano — Restaurant in Alassio

Just got to Italy today and we couldn’t wait for our first dinner. Do yourself a favor and skip this place on both food and service.

We split the seabass for two. Fish was fine, everything around it was a bit bland. The biggest offense were the pasta starters, including the gnocchi which was inedible. We had a bite each and politely told the waitress our feedback.

What caused me to spend the time on our Italian vacation writing this review was how it culminated. We waited for 15 minutes for the bill and realized our waitress was inside on the phone. I went up to Barbara, presumably the manager, who gave me the bill. I gave her the feedback on the gnocchi, and mentioned I’m happy to pay in any case. She then makes a scene in the restaurant, raising her voice at me in front of the staff to defend the horrible gnocchi. Bad food is excusable, but how Barbara treated a customer in this instance was unacceptable.

There’s so much good food in Italy. Keep walking when you see...

My fiancée, my son and i dined here. My son had a Morone fish (and i tasted it); it was out of this world! So delicious. My fiancée's and my starters and main dishes were also excellent. Plus the let us linger late; no pressure at all. Everything was simply impeccable. I've seen a few "hater" reviews regarding this restaurant. This is because it is pricier than others. But that is normal, you ARE getting your money's worth (food is simply perfect). I don't understand why people write hater reviews due to pricing; i mean anyone can read the menu (and see the prices) from the street (before entering the place) and choose to go in or not. In a few words: excellent place with fine dining -if you can't afford it, go elsewhere and don't write bad reviews because...

Prima volta e certamente ultima. Cena.del 24/8 quattro adulti e una bimba di 1 anno sul seggiolino. Siamo arrivati alle 20.20. Ordinato un ottimo vino (Russiz Superiore) e acqua. Come primi piatti: Spaghetti con vongole Calamaretti lemongrass Gamberi crudi con burrata (ottimi) Ravioli patanegra…..

Come secondi piatti: rigatoni cacio e pepe frittura Pescato: branzino al sale per due. €90

Fine pasto 3 digestivi, un dolce, una seconda bottiglia di vino.

Conto finale € 320 e direi che poteva andare “anche bene” quello che è stato inaccettabile è: Alle ore 21 in tre avevamo mangiato il primo piatto. Gli spaghetti alle vongole sono arrivati, dopo molti solleciti caduti nel vuoto, alle 21,25. Piatto senza anima e senza i gusci delle vongole perche? Erano piccole,brutte e dure. C’è da pensare molto male. Il branzino che ci aveva fatto vedere inizialmente(ma deve essere un campione che fanno vedere a tutti) ) si era ristretto di 2/3 taglie perchè nei piatti ( ma non dovrebbero pulirtelo al tavolo?) c’era una unica fetta e piatta. Alle nostre rimostranze per il servizio ci hanno risposto che il pesce lo puliscono in cucina perchè al tavolo non c’è posto.! Concludo: il servizio è stato pessimo ma dove hanno toccato il fondo è l’addebito di € 3 per il coperto di mia nipote di 1 anno seduta su una sedia con seggiolino. Nadia Zanolla

Il proprietario di questo ristorante, il giorno dopo ,nella sua risposta alla mia recensione scrive: -Fenomeno !!!- Nella lingua italiana questo sostantivo maschile è oggetto di meraviglia e di ammirazione. Non credo che sia il mio caso. La recensione che ho scritto è assolutamente veritiera. Serata pessima a causa di errori inaccettabili. 🤫....
