Avoid the tables in front of the kitchen, especially the table #2 that we got.
Food: We ordered 2 glasses of wine, mixed grilled meat, and fried squid and prawn. The food was okay, but you might feel overpriced (68 euros in total).
Service: An event for tour guests ruined our dinner completely. Just after the dishes were served, around 20 people in a tour came over to a table next to ours to watch a demonstration of cooking a dessert. The tour guide standing just beside our table explained the cooking process loudly for 20mins, and people took pictures over our table. I don’t want to blame for the tour guide and people and I respect that the restaurant accepts tours for business, but I was quite unhappy with the waiter that took us to that table. At the time when we entered at around 6:45 for early dinner, there were plenty of tables available. He could’ve taken us to another table farther away from the event, or in case those were fully booked he could’ve told us in advance that such an event would be taken place. None of the staff even apologised for such an unpleasant situation.
Atmosphere: Average. I liked the open kitchen. The toilet was...
Read moreI have travelled through Italy over the past 3 weeks and this is the worst restaurant I have been in. We had to wait at the door being ignored until somebody at the bar pointed us out to what appeared to be the manager. We were then seated and given water, our order was taken promptly. The food took a while which we expected because it seemed fairly busy, part of the order was missing, we asked for it, eventually the item arrived with no acknowledgment or apology. At no point throughout the meal was we checked on or asked if we’d like further drinks. When we had finished eating, we were left with our dirty plates in front of us for approximately 15/20 minutes, the staff were clearing the other tables around us but ignoring us. We had to ask twice for the bill and again that took a while. We put money down and no staff member came to give us change so we scraped together the amount meaning we could leave and not wait any longer. I don’t even think they know we had left. I would never return or recommend this restaurant, save your money and...
Read moreI visited many eateries of all sorts while having vacation in Italy, a country which gastronomy is famous and as such one which you cannot authentically experience unless you get there. Someone in Italy told us that the secret to this are the ingredients not a fancy way to cook them and Il Boccone may be the proof of this.
The supremely distributed open kitchen, the chefs, the pizza oven, the waiters, the patrons and off course the star of the show... the food we were served threw me, a foodie, into tears of joy. Recommended 100% If ever in Capri...
