La Tablita — Restaurant in Anacapri

Went there this evening as looked like a great place with an inviting menu.

Initially served quickly with drinks and the bread/oil (no plates though?!)

Mains were tasty but the portion sizes were on the small side for the price (compared to other Anacapri restaurants)

But then the wait began, we were sat for at least 30mins before anyone came to our table again, and that was just to whip away the bread basket (still with bread in) no one came and asked if we wanted desserts, coffees, more drinks etc. in the end after around another 10 mins we went to the bar to pay. The waiter had an issue finding our bill and then was grumpy even just ringing it up on the till.

We left and had dessert from a place further up the road for less than the price of one dessert here.

Looking around the restaurant (which wasn’t overly busy and there were lots of staff) there were a lot of people sitting either waiting to be served, spoken to and looking...

We went there bc it was one of the only opened restaurant but we didn’t feel welcomed even though it was off season (February) : rolling eyes at our arrival, the guy at the entrance seemed annoyed by us wanting to dine in (around 8pm), we had to ask for both wine card and dessert card, they didn’t really pay attention to us etc According to the reviews we chose it because it was supposed to be cheaper than the other ones; however I think they give a card to the locals and another one to the tourists. We ended up paying around 32-42€ each for very small portions of defrigerated food, and had to take desserts because we were still very hungry. My meal was scrumptious. I got spaghetti with zucchini and it was SO good. My boyfriend (a food snob) said it was a 10/10 pasta and I’ve never heard him say that. Super duper yummy. He got a hotdog and a burger and said that they were the best he’s had in Italy so far. These guys are worth it!
