We were not impressed. After trying three different wines, one from Montefalco, one from Montalcino, and having no success, trying a Bordeux, which has never failed us, we gave up on the wine. This has never happened to us before. While one of the service staff was very courteous and polite, the other serving seemed as if she was being bothered by serving. While there were almost no other customers, the service was extremely slooooooww. We nearly asked for the check so we could leave before the secondi finally arrived. By this time we were bored from sitting for so long with no decent wine. The food was mediocre and not worth the wait. As this is also a wine tasting room, I don’t know why the wine we had was so bad. Perhaps the bottles had been previously opened for too long or were stored in the heat. Something was clearly not right. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, but surely there must be...
Read moreGiving two stars because they downplayed me drinking out of a glass that seemingly had pigeon poo. They leave the tables set so when we arrived, the glasses were already set out. We ordered some water and the server poured some water into my glass. After drinking out of it, I realized it had a big drip of what looked like it was possibly bird poo down the side and asked for a new glass. When we checked out, my husband, who speaks Italian, told the lady that this had happened and she said it was okay because they changed my glass. It is absolutely not okay and I feel disgusted.
The food itself was fine but nothing I’d go back for. The location itself is cute as it’s tucked away and feels a bit more secluded while still being outside.
Note to the staff, it’s not okay to serve patrons out of poo dirtied glasses and especially not okay to downplay it when they bring it to...
Read moreFor the appetizer, we had the bruschetta mix and it was spectacular. Our favorite was the spread the waiter claimed was spicy. It was not spicy in the slightest, but it was absolutely delicious. We would have taken jars of it home if we could. For the main course, we had the lentil soup and the truffle gnocchi. The soup was well made and had lots of flavor. The gnocchi, on the other hand, had no flavor and I would not recommend it. For dessert, we had a local Assisian dessert, and it was absolutely delicious. We would have ordered another, but we never saw the waiter again. Service was ok, we only saw our waiter a few times and were left alone in the loft of the restaurant for the most part. Overall, the appetizers and dessert were worth our time and money, but the service and main courses...
