If you’re ever curious what disappointment tastes like, come here and order the veal. I’ve had more flavorful experiences chewing on cardboard in the rain. What I was served looked like something the kitchen scraped off the floor after a butcher’s nervous breakdown — watery, grey, shredded sadness on a plate. This is a vegetarian specific review. We honestly were pretty disappointed here, despite the incredible reviews online. We both had the only veggie pasta on the menu, and it was incredibly plain and bland, as if someone gave you plain noodles with some butter on it. No love. Adding parma helped, but this was a far cry from what we were hoping for. However, the other food (containing meat) we saw around us looked pretty good, so maybe this just isn’t a great veg place. La trattoria Spadini è ormai un nostro punto di riferimento fisso durante i soggiorni ad Assisi: il signor Stefano ed il suo staff sanno sempre offrire un’esperienza di alto livello, sia per professionalità che per ospitalità, gentilezza e competenza. La location del ristorante, rustica ed accogliente nello stile tipico di Assisi, si trova nel pieno centro storico e nelle vicinanze della chiesa di Santa Chiara, accessibile solo a piedi ( ZTL ). L’offerta culinaria è ampia e rispecchia in pieno le tradizioni umbre, per qualità delle materie prime impiegate, per gli abbinamenti e la presentazione, per la ricerca e la passione che sono percepite nelle spiegazioni dei piatti offerte dal sig.Stefano, il titolare, e dai suoi collaboratori. E’ un locale certamente da consigliare a tutti, previa prenotazione ( il locale offre una quarantina di posti a sedere ), per assaporare una interessante e gustosa esperienza culinaria di piatti tipici umbri di qualità. In particolare non possiamo non citare gli antipasti ( del contadino, delizie umbre, torta al testo, ecc. ), gli strangozzi al tartufo, l’imbrecciata, le salsiccette con verdure ripassate, gli straccetti al tartufo, i tozzetti con liquore di amarena; piatti gustosi, ben abbinati e abbondanti.
