We went following a recommendation from our host landlord in Bardelino on the 12 July. The restaurant is in a great position and we looked forward to a lovely evening. I firstly should have been concerned as they initially offered a terrible table at the entrance, we graciously refused to be then offered a better table (they clearly thought we were not worth it). The food was ok ish (not great) the service however was awful and I felt like an imposter.
It did start to rain a little in the evening, not a problem (we are from the UK!) however every table were offered an alternative except us.
When it came to the bill we were simply told to go downstairs with a ticket and queue (whilst everyone else whose wait staff dealt with theirs), unbelievable ! I have never felt so undervalued having paid for an expensive meal (the same as everyon else). Please treat ALL your customers with the respect that we deserve. I would never...
Read moreExcellent food but poor service experience. First, the waiter up sold a bottle of wine (15€ more than the one we picked), and didn't even check to see if we liked his recommendation (we didn't, but wouldn't necessarily fault him for it - but the fact that he didn't check up on us indicates a bit of shade). Then, we ordered one starter, and were given two starters but it was presented as one (so it was twice the price because it was two - essentially the price of a whole meal!). Additionally, we wanted tap water, but served still and charged for it. Finally, the bread was presented to us and was charged as extra, without asking ( I know this is common in Italy, but it is an extremely annoying practice).
Bottom line - great tasting food, but shady business practices to squeeze every last...
Read moreThis is probably the most pricey restaurant in the area and I am giving it 4 stars as it serves, to me, as a tad bit disappointing. The food is very good and shines in the same class and serves good flavor, similar to every other restaurant in the area. Good food, but a bit overpriced. Please do mind the 3 euro ”acquaintance fee” per person. And for the wine enthusiasts you can expect an excellent assortment that will fit your price range. Their lasagna is small, but their other dishes are well-sized. I’d say coming here is definitely worth it if most of the other restaurants are full as they’re giving more and better priced food that tastes...
