La Muraya — Restaurant in Bari

We spent 12 days in Bari and my Wife wanted to eat a veritable risotto In Italy. So I Searcherd the net and tripadvisor for a a special evening, becouse it was Our last in Bari We wanted to celebrate. I found this restaurant. Good reviews,everything seemed ok. I checked the Facebook site, internet site, We decided to go. When we got there , We entered the restaurant right after opening,at 20.00. In the whole restaurant only two tables were occupied. A waiter came forward and asked us if WE HAVE A RESERVATION ? I said "NO". Than he turned around , he went back, seemed to talk to somebody than came back, and said that they have no tables available and I need a resrevation. I asked that how could I make a reservation if there is no possibility to make one ,neither on the site neither on Facebook. I tried to obtain a reservation, but he seemed to not understand English. Since the recent reviews were overwhelmingly negative, a few remarks to prove proper guidance for future customers: making a reservation ‘is’ possible, I sent a short e-mail inquiring about their availability the day after and got the confirmation right away (Thank you, Gaetano Paltera). Secondly, the staff is kind and friendly, now having been there myself, it is even less conceivable how they could be criticized in such a harsch manner.

We had black agnolotti & fusilli avelinnesi plus frittura mista, primi piatti were simply wonderful. The filling of the agnolotti was very balanced, its pairing with lemon sauce spot-on. The fusilli was also great. The only downside of note was that it was forgotten to remove the vein of the shrimp, the same thing goes also for the removing the entrails of the fish. It might be the traditional way around here while frying fish, still, it didn’t...

Inadequate waiter who is rude. I wanted to order a dessert, and my boyfriend a main course. When I asked for dessert and fruit, he started shouting "it's not possible", because dessert belongs to the bar, and you can order it only from the restaurant 😳 and started pointing his finger to the street!, without waiting for my boyfriend to order. Why add desserts to the menu if I can't order them? What kind of inappropriate attitude towards customers? I am very disappointed with the service at this restaurant. And the waiter with a beard and an earring in his ear is simply abnormal. Teach your waiters how to communicate with customers!!!! Why should I pay for this service??
