Overpompous is the perfect word to describe this place. Unfortunately the chefs talent is paired up with a false sense of expensiveness. The service as a whole is more complicated than it should be. We were greeted by an already full table, with a big ceramic head statue which had some breadsticks and a homemade sauce ( but we didn’t know how long they have been staying there ) and then brought one more bottle of water ( which we ordered still and got sparkling ), another plate with lemons and some bread. That’s enough to say that our appetisers had nowhere else to sit and were cramped together in a small corner, making it unaccessible for at least one of us. The plates for the main course were bigger than needed and got delivered with some dry ice that had no other purpose other than showing off. I ordered a lobster and didn’t receive a bowl to put the shells in, but still had the head statue on the table… At one time, the chef exited the kitchen with the gloves still on, went downstairs to the bathroom/closet area and went straight back in the kitchen. He might have changed them afterwards (hopefully), but it was still a gross impression. That being said, the prices of the dishes are on the expensive side for what the restaurant offers. They are very tasty, and deserve a full 5* rating, but the service and environment hardly deserves a 3*.

I had an amazing time at Ristorante Opera. The service was amazing and quick. I ordered the tris tartar and the crab spaghetti and it was delicious. I highly recommend these dishes as they were both full of flavours and very fresh. The prices are very reasonable since it’s high quality food, I ate for the same price in other restaurants in Bari where the quality of the service and the food were not this high. I went here by myself and was offered appetizers and sweet treats at the end of the diner. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, I think it is an amazing place for dates as well. Best restaurant experience so far in Bari.

Very nice presentation of the plates. Very nice atmosphere. A bit antic style but also elegant. Great service. My branzino fish came with kind of sweet salad and and potatoes cake gratin which all together is very particular mix but not really my taste. My bf took pasta with branzino which was well balanced and he really enjoyed the combination of red grapes with it. They also offered us a small “sporca musso” which was small dessert as thank you from the restaurant.

We recently visited Ristorante Opera during our stay in Bari, and it was truly one of the most memorable dining experiences of our trip!

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the elegant yet cozy atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and happy to guide us through the menu.

The menu offers a wonderful variety of Apulian specialties, all prepared with fresh, local ingredients. We tried several dishes, and each one was delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The pasta was outstanding, and the seafood was fresh and tender.

The wine list is also excellent, with carefully selected local wines that complemented the dishes perfectly.

The location is convenient, and it’s lovely to take a short stroll after dinner. Overall, we felt relaxed, welcomed, and truly special. This dinner will be a lasting memory from our trip to Bari.

💡 Recommendation: If you are in Bari, don’t miss Ristorante Opera – it’s perfect for a romantic dinner or a special family occasion. Definitely worth...

The restaurant looked inviting from the outside and was comfortable inside. The service was acceptable. I felt it was overpriced and I did not find the food to be of a high quality. I ordered the veal and was lucky if there was a few bits of it in the smothered sauce. It was served with a very small portion of mash potato.....the side salad appeared to be from a pre packaged packet....it was not fresh. My partner had the crab spaghetti...it was served with the crab shell on top which was very off putting......and the pasta was very rubbery. On to desserts......the panacotta was served with artificial cream and brulee very lumpy. Overall the food was poor quality and expensive. I think the restaurant has potential but at the moment is trying to be something it is not. Finally we were charged 38 euro for a bottle of wine which we got the next night at another restaurant for 25 euro. Perhaps we caught them on a bad night but I would not return. I don't mind paying for quality but sadly the food was...
