When visiting Bari... if you want... A great place to eat for pizza this is it. One of the best experiences I've had in my last two weeks in Italy. We just happened upon the place because a restaurant next door was recommended but we didn't like the menu. So we went next door and it was fantastic. First we were introduced to... Filippo... our waiter. He was great, and his boss should give him a raise. He truly deserves it!! He ushered us to his table of "love"... Amore. He was very funny and after watching us struggle with the menu he came over and asked if he could order us his absolute favorite pizza which he invented himself. What could we say?! He asked us if we liked artichokes, which we do and let him order for us. He then went on to describe that this pizza was made with yellow tomato sauce...not red...and artichokes and lemon dried powder. It was off the charts... I would say my favorite pizza in all of Italy! He then topped that by giving us his own prized dessert that he said he invented again.... We asked him what it was called and he said..." Ummmm". We just looked at each other and said okay... AND OMG, IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS!
We also had good lemoncello and Amaro. There was a great appetizer of pine nuts and pesto bruschetta aa well.
So if you want a good time, come here and enjoy Tell them that...

To our surprise, despite the restaurant having a significant number of empty tables both inside and out (I'd estimate around 80% of the outdoor seating was free, and all indoor tables were available), we were told that a table for four was "not possible." We were quite taken aback and, hoping to salvage the situation, inquired if we could at least place a takeaway order to enjoy at our accommodation. To our further dismay, this request was also flatly denied. What was most upsetting was the dismissive manner in which we were treated; it felt as though our presence was simply an inconvenience to them. As tourists visiting Bari, we couldn't help but wonder if our lack of local familiarity played a role in this unwelcoming reception. Regardless of the reason, being turned away from a largely empty restaurant and then denied a takeaway order left us feeling ignored and thoroughly disappointed. This was certainly not the warm Italian hospitality we were hoping to experience. I would hesitate to recommend Pizzeria Murattiana based on...
Read moreTHE FOOD I think it was one of best pizzas I ate here. It was really delicious. The size of it is about one pizza per person so I recommend ordering one for each. One thing I also really recommend if you want more then one pizza and you want to share is buying one pizza then eating it and then buying another because they are thin and they cool down fast THE SERVICE The service was nice and fast. We waited for only some minutes and we got our food. The waiter was also really friendly and cool. THE ATMOSPHERE I don't really have much to say about it. It was great and I felt comfortable. The interior was nice but a little cramped. I don't think it's a big problem when it's a sunny day but when it's raining it can become a problem especially when there are lots...
