Overall High quality and great price-value-location place for a lunch break in Bari. Expect to pay around €13-16 per person, including mains, side and drink. The fried seafood boxes is the star of this place despite the emphasis on burgers.
Mains We ordered the frittura fried seafood and the octopus burger (pulpo burger). The fried seafood was cooked close to perfection as the batter supplemented rather than overpowered the seafood. The seafood itself was fresh. The octopus burger was put well together however the octopus pieces were overcooked (hence 4 stars instead of 5 stars as that was the star of this place). It was not bad however it falls short on the quality of the other dishes.
Sides We ordered a mini salmon burger and hand cut fries. The salmon burger was really good and so were the fries. The salmon burger was well balanced and the only improvement would be to perhaps have a thinner slice of cheese or marinate the salmon more so that the fishy taste is more present.
Drinks We had two glasses of white wine. This wine was one of the positive surprises so like other reviewers I would recommend asking for the white wine as the staff's recommendations are good.
Service and Location The staff is really friendly and their English is very good, however the menu is only in Italian so I would recommend asking staff for translation. The food was ready to eat faster than expected. The place itself is very well decorated and there is a good atmosphere in the tiny space. If only the space was a little bit bigger but now I am nit-picking...
Read moreReally disappointing. We saw beautiful reviews and photos of food from here but unfortunately that wasn't the experience we had. We ordered a poke bowl that came out as a mayonnaise soup with some tuna in it. The worst part was trying to explain to the person that it was inedible, they tried to offer for me to purchase a new one or a new one at a discounted price. I wasn't willing to spend any more money on food at this place at this point so I decided I would just leave. I asked to take a photo of the food before I left and the person quickly changed their mind and offered to remake the dish for me... Then proceeded to serve me a half made dish missing ingredients. The whole experience was extremely off-putting. I looked at photos of other poke bowls and they all had 1/4 of the amount of mayo on them. The person at the counter obviously realized they made the mistake but they weren't willing to admit it. Our friend got the fried seafood and it was very average. There's many other restaurants in Bari worth spending your money at, I would skip this place...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Saturday in July and easily found a table outside (though there was a queue later). We went for 2 grilled octopus paninis and 2 peroni. The bread of the panini was lovely, as was the octopus. The panini included a pesto filling, some lettuce and a couple of sundried tomatoes. Unfortunately though the quantity of filling was underwhelming, especially when considering the price (12 euros each panini) and how much other places around give for about the same price.
Overall not a bad experience, the view is spot on but the couple of tentacles of octopus were...
