Ristorante Da Vito — Restaurant in Bari

We were here with our children. We came by chance, looking for a restaurant with a free table. The waiters speak English and are friendly. But the owner ruined everything. He was so spread out in front of tables where his friends were sitting and tried so hard to take care of them that the waiters forgot about the other customers and stopped paying attention. I had to wait a long time for the bill and then I had to pay attention again. The grilled fish and shrimp mix was not impressive at all, it was not tasty. The pasta with tomatoes was excellent. I also mentioned an important point, in my opinion: almost all the dishes in which the dishes were served were chipped, the forks were all different and had traces of defects. Looks like it'll be a nice spot. However DO NOT EAT HERE, food was less then desirable. My salad was mediocre, the greens were borderline rotten. The owner was taking orders, he was incredibly obnoxious and rude. Was not impressed with his manner of service. Spent more time talking to his friends and laughing obnoxiously then focusing on what we would like to eat. The food was not worth the stop. We would have had a better experience if one of the other servers were allowed to do their job, really wish would have chosen another place to eat. Definitely not worth the stop. 6/22/19... two American females in Bari as part of a tour. Was recommended by our tour guide but was, again as with our hotel, very disappointed with how we were treated. One of our servers was very nice but the owner & another server acted as if we were a bother. The food was good but if I am ever in Bari again I will definitely not go there to eat. I don’t speak Italian, although I am of Italian decent but none of that should matter. Rude & disrespectful. We even gave a tip to the nice gentleman server. You would think that restaurants would care about their reviews but I guess they don’t....
