This was not our favorite in Bellagio. The first time we tried to go (around 8:30) we were turned away and told they have too many people already waiting when there was no one else outside waiting. The second time, we joined a cue outside waiting around 8pm. They said they were closing at 9pm for the European soccer championship, but still taking customers. We waited about 20 minutes, which wasn't bad. Once inside and seated however, we waited 20 full minutes before someone approached us to even take our drink order. They kept taking customers at 8:30, 8:45, 9:00 despite saying they were closing early and while customers already inside weren't getting served at all. At one point, I asked the woman there if we could order drinks. She said the man (seemingly an owner) takes all the orders. She then proceeded to take another couple's order! Their food and drink order even though they arrived AFTER us! I was outraged at this point and repeatedly asking to be helped. They finally took our order and brought bread. They did not bring plates, olive oil and balsamic for the bread like they did for other tables so I needed to wait for that and ask multiple times again. The tables next to us and behind us was having the same experience and we were all very unhappy. Wine was great, steak was delicious, pasta was fresh and sauce was tasty. That's why I gave this 3 stars. The tiramisu was pretty good (La Lanterna down the street was better.) This is overrated in Bellagio and poor quality service. When you come from NY where every restaurant is very populated and service is still outstanding, you're impressed by...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve ever been to a restaurant that’s more overhyped than this one. It’s only open for five hours a day, and yet the staff acts like they’re doing you a favor just by letting you eat there. While our waiter was actually kind and professional, one particular staff member was shockingly rude — not just to us, but to every single person she interacted with. Her attitude created a tense, unwelcoming atmosphere that made the entire experience feel like we were peasants begging to be fed rather than paying customers.
We had heard great things about this place and were told it was a “must-visit,” so despite some early red flags, we gave it a try — especially because people kept raving about their tiramisu. Sadly, even the food couldn’t redeem the experience. The way the food looks in the photo is how it tastes. Everything we ordered was bland and underseasoned, and the tiramisu — which was supposedly their specialty — was the worst I’ve had in all of Italy.
To make matters worse, it was raining the day we visited, and instead of letting guests wait under the covered awning, this same staff member insisted everyone wait in the rain. There was absolutely space to accommodate people, but she clearly chose not to out of spite. It honestly seemed like she got satisfaction out of making people uncomfortable.
Not only would I not recommend this restaurant — I would actively advise others to avoid it. The service alone is enough to ruin your meal, and the food is simply not...
Read moreThis restaurant was sooo highly rated, I guess I expected more. The pasta quality was good but the ragu was nothing to write home about - and serving size felt a little small. I tried the veal too, and it was good but not even near the best I’ve had in Italy. The ambiance is lovely and the dessert was excellent. They’re very busy but you do get seated in time in an organised manner if you’re early enough. My waiter ignored me for the most part and either forgot or took forever with even just drinks (I had to remind him) - which was confusing because someone who came after me was served muchhh faster and more attentively. Can’t help but wonder if it was a racial thing or if he was having an off day - you just never know when you’re brown :). So for me, the service was def lacking. If I visit Bellagio again, I would probably try something else because apart from the tiramisu, I’m not sure what dish I’d actually recommend. However overall, it was a good time with everything combined - but 5 stars? Nah. An inflated 4, if I’m being more generous than my pasta serving ;).
Tip for those interested in dining here: get here by 6:30pm if it’s a weekend. I got here by 6:50 and still had to get my name written to be seat by 7:50/8ish because there was already a line. If you get here by 7:45pm, you’re already probably too late for the night and they’ll turn you away. The bar opposite is also theirs so they have cushions for you to put on the stairs if you...
