Residence La Limonera is a villa with a number of apartments set in a little garden oasis in the heart of Bellagio. We stayed in the top floor apartment which had magical views of Lake Como and a great balcony to sit and drink a few wines and watch the activities on the lake. The spotlessly clean room, which catered for our family of 4, had a bedroom with queen bed and a fold out sofa bed and also a small kitchenette with microwave and cooktop and coffee cafeteria which was perfect for morning espressos. The furnishings were more “antico” but fine. The Residence is in the heart of many restaurants and shops and is next to a great deli where you can get your lunch supplies or wines and opposite the best gelati (and more reasonably priced) shop in Bellagio. Although we booked through Airbnb, I would recommend booking direct for the best price. Daniela runs (perhaps owns?) La Limonera and will leave instructions on how to enter your room if she is not there. If arriving by ferry with luggage, I would recommend not carrying luggage up the many stairs but walking along the street which is a bit...
Read moreVery cute hotel with a great location at the top of the city with a nice courtyard to sit and relax. It sits directly amongst many restaurants and shops (in fact, you could have a pizza and a Aperol spritz 10 steps outside the gate, which we did). Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. If you are driving, there are three limited-time parking spaces directly in front of the property gate, so you can load or unload your suitcase before moving to a long-term spot(several minutes' walk minimum). Bear in mind that those parking spaces are at a midpoint of a ZTL, so when you leave, you don't know which direction has the right of way, so I waited until some cars passed and then pulled out and got behind them. Also, keep in mind that it's extremely tight and there're tons of pedestrians using the street when cars aren't coming, so you must pay close attention if you're trying to back out quickly to get behind the line of cars before the light turns green for the opposing line of cars. Based on my own experience, I would definitely...
Read moreRight in the heart of Bellagio with easy access from the ferry. Don't drag your case up the steep stairs, walk around the main road. Our rooms were on the garden level with a courtyard out of our bedroom and a garden setting on grass accessed through the lounge. The bed was very comfortable and although the shower was getting a little tired the bathroom was a good size. All your cooking facilities are available. The terrace is tired looking but we had a lovely afternoon lunch on there. The cafe and the 'corner shop' were fantastic. A lovely place for shopping but pricey. Just be aware that the reception is only open from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. Make sure you contact Daniela to let her know your arrival time although she does leave your keys so that you can get in if she isn't there. A place we...
