We absolutely recommend this restaurant if you would like some tasty, authentic pizza. First, you can watch the cooks make pizzas all day long in the big windows from the street and in the restaurant. Each pizza is checked for quality and uses only fresh ingredients.
The menu itself features only pizza and a majority of them are Margherita with some small additions or substitutes. We got the classic Margherita and the Margherita with double mozzarella, two of the Buffalo mozzarella and one pizza with a tomato selection.
Pizzas are large wirh thin crust and tasty sauce and cheese. Only downside is that the center of the pizza does get very soggy from the sauce.
Personally, I did give a lower rating for the service and atmosphere. The restaurant itself is pretty small so expect a wait during peak hours especially with the amount of foot traction the place gets. As for the service, we came in closer to around 9 or 9.30 and the place was packed. We were given a number and told to wait until the next available table would be open.
However, as we waited two couples were seated before us who had later numbers and then we were almost passed up for another group that had just arrived with the same number of guests (5). We had to basically argue with the server to be seated as we had been waiting the longest out of everyone waiting and multiple tables had left at this point.
Aside from that, service was great. Our Waitress was very helpful and the pizzas came...
Read moreDuring this summer holiday, my significant other and I had the "pleasure" of sharing a dinner here. We ordered a pizza that was supposed to be delivered to the table on fire, and tiramisu for dessert. We specifically asked to be served the tiramisu after we had finished the main course. Sadly, something went wrong and we received the tiramisu first. After reminding the waiter about the order in which we wanted our food and declining the tiramisu at that moment to be brought after our meal, we began waiting for the pizza. After a mind-boggling 30 minutes, it finally arrived. Never mind the delay, the pizza itself was not exceptional, and many restaurants in the area offer cuisine of the same or a higher standard. When we finished, another dreadful waiting period began, and 10 minutes later the waiter explained to us that they had run out of tiramisu. Disappointed, we decided to pay the bill and leave, but that was not the end of our troubles. At the desk where you are supposed to pay, the employee charged us for the tiramisu we never received. After a discussion with the waiter and the employee scolding him publicly, the charge was removed. To add insult to injury after such poor service, the restaurant still made us pay the service fee. Perhaps it was our bad luck, yet I cannot recommend this establishment if such mistakes are made and no compensation is offered to...
Read moreI am actually kind of impressed by the 4,7 stars over so many reviews. I went there and right off the bat I wasn't allowed to sit where ever I wanted. I did not enjoy sitting next to an old man drinking bear and coughing but apparently they had to sit people in specific places in sort of a "line" but then the next two people that came got to sit one table over even though that was exactly what I asked for. What ever... It's fine. I waited about 20 minutes for the food which is relatively long but I also gladly will wait 20 minutes for a good italian pizza. I ordered the sausage and friarielli pizza even though I did not know what friarielli was but I am open to try new things. 20 minutes later and an abomination of a pizza is presented to me (see photo). It looks unappetizing and all the topping is clumped everywhere which make the vegetables clump on some pieces. And let me tell you... they tasted fine but they were overpowering the pizza. I tasted nothing but friarielli... No cheese, no sauce, no sausage just the extremely bitter tasting vegetables. Was not very good.
Also the host charged me 2 euro extra. Said 12 euro on the menu and I was charged 14.
Place was not good. Atmosphere was very cantina-esqe and none of the waitresses asked me about the food after I ate.
What a shame, but hey......
