L'appetito vien mangiando — Restaurant in Bergamo

While I, personally, still prefer Roman suppli, I have to say I was most pleasantly surprised and more than happy to get my hands on arancini (especially this far north) after hearing many wonderful things about Sicilian cuisine and still not having any luck to visit the region myself.

These hefty and delicious "oranges" are coated in soft crust that won't punish your mouth roof, and filled with all sorts of tasty stuff - we went the classical route with meat sauce and ham&mozarella. Both options were fresh, creamy and packed with flavour, despite the re-heating.

I'm giving four stars instead of five because we unfortunately didn't have time to come back and try the other fillings to get the all-around impression. But believe me, it would be a crime not to visit this place and carb up a bit, especially if you're about to cover entire Bergamo on foot,...

Per il mio compleanno ho deciso di fare una cena in stile siciliano, e mi sono rimesso nuovamente alla ricerca dopo le innumerevoli fregature di chi si spacciava Sicilie ti rifilava arancini surgelati o di chi non era in grado di preparare cibo siculo. Dopo un'attenta ricerca mi sono imbattuto sul sito di Erika e le recensioni positive degli utenti. Mi sono quindi recato sul posto "l'appetito Vien mangiando di Via pignolo in Bergamo ' e già gli odori mi hanno fatto ricordare casa; li ho avuto il piacere di conoscere Erika , proprietaria gentile e professionale nel suo lavoro,che mi ha consigliato; mi ha dato anche la possibilità di fare delle cose a parte per un mio commensale intollerante al lattosio.; Ho spiegato ad Erika che i miei invitati erano tutti siculi quindi non potevo fare brutta figura; lei mi ha garantito che sarei rimasto soddisfatto e così è stato! Arancini ripieni di condimento, buoni succosi , croccanti e morbidi dentro così come le altre cose che ho comprato.. scacce siracusane , fagottini alla norma . Tornerò da Erika perché finalmente ho ritrovato un pezzo di Sicilia a Bergamo e ci andranno anche i miei amici che erano estasiati da tutto. Grazie...

We had breakfast/lunch here, EVERY single day. Wonderful and kind owner who was very helpful and welcoming. The food is just absolutely fantastic. By far the most rich and flavourful arancini's I've had in many years. And there are so many other authentic Sicilian dishes that vary every day. I wish I lived next door so I could continue...
