Pack it in Boys. We've found the best coffee in Bologna. Actually no, we've found the best coffee in Italy.

Look, Italian coffee is bitter, burnt and wakes you up with its ash and hot water taste. But ultimately, it's a bit meh.

Finding Aroma Speciality Coffees was genuinely one of my Bologna highlights!

Lady Owner and I talked about her beans' origins, their roast level, the acidity and tasting notes. She made recommendations on what I'd like - and what I might not like so much. And she was right on the money each time. Really knowledgeable and super info her third wave coffee. Genuinely, an absolute delight to be in her shop talking to her about coffee and trying her different beans.

I had them as double espressos, but I'll be going back today to try her V60 method.

I can't talk about her food yet, as I was too caught up with trying her coffee, but it looked standard cafe pastries that I'll try today as well. What I CAN say though, is that she had some single origin chocolate in her shop too. She offered me a square after the god-tier coffee, and DAMN it was good!! I will buy a bar of that too today.

In summary: The best coffee in Bologna, and the best coffee in Italy so far that I've had. Owner amazing. Go here if you're from Australia and want a good coffee. Also go here if you're over standard Italian espresso and want a coffee that is actually nice and tasty for a...

Italy is world-renowned for its coffee culture, I mean, they invented the latte, espresso, capuccino, and my personal favorite on a hot day, the affogato. All of this means that finding a good cup of coffee is relatively easy in Italy. However, Aroma Specialty Coffees is not just another good (or even great) place to get coffee. Simply put, what Cristina and Alessandro have created is simply sublime. They are not simply a great chef and an award-winning barista, they are artists & intellectuals that have elevated their respective crafts. If you have a chance, run (don´t walk) to their place and try their creations. Do it now, while you still have a chance to actually meet them in person because sooner than later, Aroma Specialty Coffees is going to be an empire given the uniqueness of their products. Try as many of their products as you can, I know I tried the majority of their menu over 2-3 days and would love to be able to go back...

If I could give this place 10000 stars, I would. We loved this place so much that we’ll be making it a point to stop in Bologna for Aroma the next time we’re in Italy. Amazing drinks and the most amazing staff. On our first visit, we had the Salentino, Fior D'Agrume, a cappacino, and 2 crepes and we loved everything so much we had to come back. The salentino and fior are perfect summer iced drinks and the cappacino is one of the best I’ve had. The crepes are also perfectly balanced (the house made cream it comes with is excellent). My dad had asked for the salentino to be made with a bit less sweetness our 2nd day here and the main barista made it perfectly for him. The woman of the shop and all of the staff we encountered are the kindest, most accommodating, and warm people. We loved it here so much, just amazing service and quality of drinks and food. We bought beans in hopes of remembering them once we leave Bologna. A...

This has to be hand down the best coffee in Bologna. I always do lots of research before I travel to ensure I find the best coffee .... and Aroma did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded my expectations. There is a selection of roasted beans to choose from, and the barista explains the character of each. These guys clearly have a passion for coffee, and they partake in regular international coffee competitions. My Flat White was exceptional; rich crema with caramel notes - not a hint of bitterness. The milk was perfectly frothed so that it was thick and smooth and velvety. The latte art was perfect too. My friends had espresso and they were very complimentary too. So much so that for the next 3 days we returned several times - it was consistently excellent. We tried one or two other coffee bars but no other place was as good.
