I came to this lovely kitchen after my bus was late and I was soaked in the rain.
My plan was to bring some gifts for my friends in Trieste, and I asked the man if those tortellini and tortelloni can handle hours of trip without a fridge.
He thought about it and told me yes, but I have to put them in the fridge right away after I arrive. Then, he packed them carefully and put more flour to keep them fresh while talking to the Google translation to let me know how to cook them perfectly. It was a very funny conversation. He was really helpful and sweet, and the woman in the kitchen was always smiling.
Coming to this lovely small store made me happy after a long day in rain. He treated me a piece of ciambella for my journey on the bus.

The lovely staff and I had a quaint broken English-Italian conversation full of animated hand gestures about the ingredients and ways to prepare their products. I tried their tortellini and linguine along with a generous serving of their in-house bolognese sauce. Hands down, best tortellini and bolognese sauce I have ever had. The bolognese sauce had terrific depth and flavour. The tortellini were generously stuffed with an incredibly flavourful cheese and meat filling.
