Café de la Paix — Restaurant in Bologna

I think opinion about this cafe varies - many staffs are not Italian, so the atmosphere is quite different from usual Italian cafes. But the staffs are very kind, and the place is cosy, quiet, and has wifi. In addition, at least for coffees, the price is average or lower than other cafes. So those who like the atmosphere will find this place very attractive. An additional plus is that Almawifi is available here for some reason, so those affiliated with University of Bologna can access to the University databases from here. The only drawback for me is that this cafe is a bit far from Via Zamboni, so cannot...

Brutta esperienza, voglio pensare che sia uno scivolone in quanto vedo tante recensioni positive, purtroppo a noi non è andata bene.

Tutto comincia quando trovo sul sito di Wonderbox (ho da usare un cofanetto) questo locale in centro a Bologna. Telefono per accertarmi che il buono sia accettato, mi rispondono di sì, che avrei avuto accesso al buffet e compresa una bevuta, il tutto per due persone. Mi viene anche consigliato di prenotare. Ottimo, ne parlo con la mia ragazza e decidiamo di prenotare per il giorno in cui saremmo passati a Bologna. Stavolta trovo al telefono un uomo che, sembrando passato di lì per caso, mi risponde che per quel giorno probabilmente sono pieni, e di richiamare lunedì mattina per parlare con la sua collega che gestisce le prenotazioni. Richiamo, mi prendono la prenotazione ma mi rispondono che no, il voucher non si può utilizzare, stanno cambiando azienda e devono rifare la convenzione. Tuttavia mi conferma che avrebbero avuto il buffet, e decidiamo di prenotare comunque.

Arrivati, ci accolgono gentilmente, ma cascano dal pero quando chiediamo del buffet. Alla fine facciamo aperitivo con 10€ a testa, ci portano un bicchiere con più ghiaccio che cocktail, prosciutto crudo, mortadella, olive, pomodori sott'olio e tigelle. Buoni, per la carità, ma non era quello che ci è stato promesso. Pago con satispay e mi lasciano uscire senza accettare la transazione: se fossi stato disonesto avrei potuto annullarla, dato che la hanno accettata dopo ore.

Peaceful! I’ve been living in Italy for 2 years and It’s my first time in Bologna. I have to admit that it’s the first non-Italian cafe that I have been. It’s very cozy, calm background music, tables are not too close to each other. Nobody tries to put you out as soon as your coffee finishes unlike other places in Italy. Absolutely welcoming! There is WiFi so you can work as much as you want. I entered here for a coffee break but now I’m going to order more because it feels...
