Where do i start with this hotel? From the first moment I arrived from a long flight from Taiwan the staff made me very welcome indeed and let me go straight to the room and relax until the rest of the group arrived from the UK. The room was ample in size and had a seating area where you could catch some sun in the morning and afternoon. They rooms had Teas,Coffees, and a selection of alcoholic drinks if you so wished. The rooms had great showers, 2 types, a power shower and a large pan head shower so you can choose which one you like, plenty of nice soaps and conditioners which don't dry your skin but there is also body lotions supplied aswell. We stayed for 14 days at the hotel and everyday we went walking once the main group left us, from the hotel you have the whole city in front of you which makes this hotel the perfect place to stay and plan your Bologna and surrounding area adventures, we mapped everything from the hotel and within the first few hours no GPS devices were needed as every road leads back to the hotel.(all roads lead to Rome). There is plenty to see and do in the City, the City comes alive on Friday afternoons where socialising seem to be the number one sport where food and drink play a massive part in the culture which we embraced to its full capacity. From the hotel to the train station took 23 mins, to the Neptune statue took 12 mins, San Luca from the hotel 1 hour and 10 mins, Sundays are very busy be prepared. Also the hotel bar sells a lager in a bottle which has a salty taste to it and is very nice, so if you are in the hotel and have 10 mins to spare try one, they are from Sardinia i believe. As one last footnote the breakfasts in the hotel have everything you need and more, whatever your activity is that morning load up on the right food and it will see you through your activity until lunch time. So if you want to see Bologna from the Hotel roof terrace and count the towers,or to explore the local area or further afield, stay in a lovely quiet location where everything is reachable, where everyone at the hotel, doesn't matter what job they did they all played a part in the the experience, and they were all fantastic, then this is the place to do the...
Read moreTheir standards is far away to be 4 stars, except for the price. We have paid almost 1000 EUR for 2-night stay for 2 rooms. And what do we get? All the staff from the reception to room cleaning ladies were super slow and arrogant... Sometimes it felt, that you are in retirement home for elderly people, where time stops. From the very beginning we must ask twice or triple times to get what we were asking for. Nobody is in a hurry at all. Everything in the hotel is super packed and tiny - there is not enough space anywhere: reception area is super small, elevator is only for 2 people, corridors are no more than one meter width - it's hard to pass here if you are lucky to meet there someone else. Rooms are tiny with small windows. Room keys were really old fashioned and uncomfortable - connected with hard and heavy piece of plastic, where is your room number. You can't put it even in your pocket, because it's too big. The breakfast was terrible - only the pastries/cookies/cakes/breads/some fruits and vegetables/cheese with ham and cold eggs with omelette. NO HOT FOOD at all. The most strange thing, that even omelette was cold. The staff of the hotel should look and learn how to serve REAL 4-star class breakfast. With cookies and cakes you can count only on 1 or 2-star hotel level, but not 4-star. And the biggest unpleasant surprise was waiting on the evening, when we together with the colleagues decided to go on the rooftop and to chill there with glass of wine. When we came there, one of the hotel's members came to as and asked to go away, because that evening rooftop bar is closed because OF THE PRIVATE EVENT. Theatre of the absurd - that's the only possible phrase for this kind of service. We have paid 1000 EUR for two nights and we can't access rooftop, because hotel decided to earn some more additional money and hired the rooftop bar for the whole evening for someone who is not even staying in the hotel!!! How would you comment it? Is this a 4-star service??? I won't ever stay in this hotel even for free. Really. Very bad feelings and memories from this...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay at Hotel Touring and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
Location: The hotel is in an excellent location, within easy walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. Driving in was straightforward, with parking available right outside for loading and unloading luggage. The hotel also offers convenient parking nearby at €35 per night.
Staff & Service: The staff were truly lovely – friendly, welcoming, and always accommodating. It was a pleasure to be greeted warmly every time we passed reception. The breakfast team was also very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. The rooftop staff were not quite as friendly or helpful, but this did not detract from the overall high standard of service we experienced throughout our stay.
Rooms: Our room was spacious and well-equipped, offering everything expected from a 4-star hotel. The bedding was very comfortable, with high-quality, clean linens. The bathroom was impressively large and well maintained, adding to the overall comfort.
Communal Areas & Terrace: The communal areas were stylish and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The 5th-floor terrace was a highlight, offering stunning views, especially at sunset. It’s clearly a popular spot for special occasions, though guests should be aware there is a minimum spend requirement even for those staying at the hotel.
Overall: Hotel Touring offers an excellent combination of location, comfort, and service. While there were minor areas for improvement, our experience was overwhelmingly positive, and we would...
