ABSOLUTELY UNFORGETTABLE! MUST DINE HERE. FYI - reservations are a MUST. This place fills up quick (and now we know why). We arrived approx 7:30pm for our first dinner and greeted by Riccardo who was a ball of energy, so nice, so happy ! Ric told us they were booked out until around 9, come back. No stress, few drinks at a local bar and we came back. (Upon arrival the 2nd time a family came out and all said “worth the wait” …. Now we were very excited). We sit down and order our food (menu is quite extensive). We asked our waiter for recommendations on food and wine pairing. AMAZING. Genuine food!! Real flavours, authentic and home made pastas. Absolutely delicious cuisine. More importantly - my wife has anaphylaxis to nuts - they went above and beyond to ensure she was safe to eat here (which means more to us than the service or food). Fortunately they only use 1 nut on desert, and their service and food was second to none. Adrian was our waiter, spoke great English (we are from Australia) - he was incredible, service was amazing and information on food was very in depth. After our three courses and a few wines, we almost rolled out of the venue (so full) thanking everyone on our way for an amazing dinner. But we did NOT Make the mistake we made the first time …..and we made a reservation before we left! Our second experience was identical to the first, A warm welcome into the restaurant, staff are relaxed and composed, and the kitchen waiting to prepare delicious food. Firstly, this place looks gorgeous, both the exterior and interior are typically Italian, it is the reason i choose to try out this restaurant after seeing pictures online.
When arriving at the restaurant we were served by the extremely friendly and social head waiter and his staff, he explained to us that the restaurant is a family run business and he was third generation. His parents, who own the place, were sitting in the restaurant also enjoying diner which was lovely to see, as the family working together really added to the atmosphere. When explaining us about the dishes he clearly showed much passion for his work, his English was amazing and the English menus also helped tremendously with choosing dishes. We drank a wine that night that was made by the brother of the owner, bearing the same name as the restaurant. . The food was absolutely superb, we started with a plate of cold cuts that screamed absolute quality. All the meats were fresh and of high quality. After that I had the scalopina with roasted potatoes which in my eyes is the best Italian dish i ever had, which isnt an overstatement, if really was that good. We ended our diner with a dessert tasting which consisted of three delicious desserts.
I can really say this place was amazing, it felt like it came straight out of an Italian movie. Make reservations, this is a must dining experience! Our host, Ricardo, was a pure delight! A man that knows his calling in life and that is to make people feel welcomed and at home. He greeted us, and every other guest, as friends! He took time to chat with every table and make everyone feel like family. It was obvious that the locals love him and his personality and he has many, many locals as regulars! Even more reason to get a reservation 😉 Our server was Francisco! And he was as amazing as Ricardo. We looked at the menu and definitely wanted to try food we wouldn't be able to get anywhere else. We had our thoughts and his recommendations matched them perfectly. His love of food and sharing it was wonderful. A special of cold asparagus and eggs was our first delight. Soft cooked, delicate asparagus covered with a delicious egg salad. Next was our best dish in Italy to date... Artichoke flan with baby artichoke salad. We love artichokes but weren't sure about combining it with a flan dish and nothing prepared us for this wonderful delight. If you order just one dish from Cesari, this must be that dish! Our most cherished dish was green ravioli with rabbit. We know anytime you can get rabbit you order it and this continues to be one of the most delicious food.
