I usually rely on locals' recommendations, and this place isn't on the typical tourist path. I wanted to try as many local dishes as possible, so I asked if they could serve half portions, which they happily agreed to. The waiter suggested some must-try dishes: Tagliatelle al ragu (Bolognese), Tortelloni with butter and sage, Tortellini in broth, and risotto with artichoke. We were recommended La Traviata and others by our hotel. It is very slightly outside the main tourist old town centre.
Don't worry about asking for a menu - let them tell you what they have. The pasta is freshly homemade every day and you can tell - it is simply fantastic. And don't get me started on the puddings. Try the mascarpone with chocolate. Or the panna cotta. Or the zuppa inglese!!!!
Honestly, this is one of the best, most welcoming dining experiences we have had i...
