We visited here because they are a 2 minute walk from our flat. We arrived on the early side (before 8pm) because we have learned that reservations are essential and we were being spontaneous. Happily, they could accomodate us.
Our server did his best to help us decipher the menu. His English was a good as my Italian - very limited! But we got it to work. Bravo to him!
Overall, the food was nicely prepared and looked very nice. The chef loves his three pepper, three color sauces for garnish. Bit of a one-note flavor scheme.
We started with the Tiepido di mare - cuttlefish, shrimp and mussels in a heavy cream sauce dotted with the pepper sauces. Looked lovely. Tasted good too. Fish was cooked just right. The dish won’t put them on the map but it was good.
Entrees were tortelloni with roasted tomatoes in a cream sauce. This wasn’t mine but looked similar to the sauce from our starter. No complaints. I had the pork tenderloin with a potato gratin and a half roasted carrot dotted with the yellow and green pepper sauces. Pork was beautifully cooked. The gratin was good and the carrot, well, it was a carrot. Overall, flavors were safe.
Service was efficient, pleasant and friendly. Would we go back? Possibly. There are no reasons not to other than there are lots of other places...
Read moreThis place is a joke. Only pasta is okay, around average but service, main dish and portions are terrible. Waiter does not speak almost any English, not even basic words. Main dish is less than a kids' menu and the worst is coperta (service fee) is EUR4. The place is not at the city centre and not even on a road, you have to go through the entrance of apartments to get there. Never never again, one of the worst...
