La Svolta - Cucina di Ragione — Restaurant in Bologna

Okay, I don't want to overhype this but the tagliatelle ragu made me want to cry. It's absolutely perfect. I wasn't expecting to taste something so good. Days later and looking at the photos I can still taste it. Everything I ate here was absolute perfection. This is not a typical Italian restaurant and that only makes it more special. Their dishes always have a twist (they take the traditional recipes and have their own version) and the ingredients are all sourced from different regions of Italy. Enza, our lovely hostess, was a delight and explained every single detail of our dishes, including how to eat their unique lemon cheesecake (don't try it if you don't LOVE the taste of lemon). We came across it by chance - we rented an apartment across the street. The staff is very friendly and despite the unpretentious interior, they have a serious attitude to the food - beyond the standard tourist menu.
