NU Lounge Bar — Restaurant in Bologna

I'm afraid I can only give three stars. I was in between two and three but since the server was really nice I can do three.

So don't get me wrong! The drinks were delicious, the decor was all right but everything else was not very Tiki at all. Loud cloud rap music, nothing like Tiki should sound and way too high volume. People dancing around and acting like it's a discotheque. I got annoyed after 45 minutes and was like, why did I order another drink? I did because the nu Mai Tai was amazing. The second one was also fabulous, a Nu Painkiller, but I had a really hard time to enjoy the drinks when the environment is not appealing. I had a nice chat with the server but we had to scream at each other behind the masks. Prices are definitely on the high end side, maybe a bit to high but the quality is also very high.

Final words: I need a Tiki bar to be an escape from reality, a short holiday with good vibes. I left stressed and happy to leave and go home. It should feel definitely the other way around, haha So five stars for the drinks but one star for the concept. Makes it 2.5 stars but like I said before, the waiter was a cool guy so it's...

An incredible experience, one of the best bars in the world (included in the Top 60 official chart!)

You definitely have to visit this place to experience a true quality, profesionality, originality. The place itself is a design bliss, surrounded by good selection of music, and as the evening progresses the atmosphere and music changes in order to increase the party effect :-) The barman is no novice as he's widely recognized and awarded, and you'll also assist to a little shows at the bar every now and then. I must say I've never tasted such cocktails before, so well done and with an outstanding presentation. So not only is the bar objectively the best in Bologna, it crosses also the Italian borders in terms of recognition and quality. Try and see...

Ok, I had high hopes for Nu as it was recommended by other bartenders in Bologna…

Good: • The drinks were delicious, with quality rums and fresh juices • The rum selection is great.

Bad: • Sitting at the bar, the service was horrible. No coasters (couple next to us had them) No water (couple next to us had water) No bar snacks (tables all had them) • Bartender and/or wait staff didn’t check back on how drinks were. • Straw with the Saturn didn’t reach the bottom of the glass. If you serve with a straw, make if the right length. • Garnishes & presentation were wrong. Images in the menu were accurate to classic tiki cocktails, but the the Saturn didn’t have a lemon zest orbit garnish, and the navy grog didn’t come with the...
