Osteria della Fondazza — Restaurant in Bologna

We made a last minute choice to go to this restaurant tonight because it was highly rated and local and we can see why!

The atmosphere was comfortable, casual and a bit sporty sitting out the back. The waiter (possibly owner) was very friendly and could speak English too which made ordering easy for us. But the best bit of course was the food!

The tagliatelle con ragú was truly amazing and my wife wished she ordered it too despite having an equally amazing lasagne including a spinach sheet of pasta. The weissbier was really good, full pork steak antipasto and the mushroom salad went well with celery and cheese.

We didn’t pay more than 10 Euros for a dish being over 50% cheaper than most places we have eaten!

I wish we were staying longer to go back, but I highly recommend going to this restaurant if you’re in the area and want a more casual meal that’s better than the pricy...

If you are looking for a restaurant where you will feel like you are going to a nice family home for dinner, this is the place for you. In una Bologna nostalgica, disseminata di locali che cercano di scimmiottare in modo abbastanza anacronistico e occasionale stilemi culinari vecchi, ormai vuoti e privi di senso, questa osteria rappresenta un rifugio di genuinità e coerenza. Si respirano aria familiare, genuinità, relax e l'ambiente è caldo e veramente avvolgente. Il menù è limitato a 4-5 primi, secondi anni 90, un paio di contorni e qualche dolce a prezzi abbastanza contenuti. Io ho mangiato fantastiche polpette con piselli, ma i primi sembravano molto invitanti e preparati in casa. Ho avuto l'impressione, in generale, che le pietanze coniugassero bontà e semplicità. Il servizio è veloce e sincero e le due salette sul retro, caratterizzate da legno, panche e qualche bottiglia di annata, sono impreziosite da due memorabilia calcistici della Bologna dei primi 2000. Ottimo schermo, ampio e nitido con possibilità di vedere partite, ma sempre in un clima abbastanza rilassato. Consiglio davvero questo luogo. Troppe finte osterie ormai strizzano l'occhio con lo chic, qui invece si ha davvero l'impressione che il tempo si sia fermato e che l'atmosfera sia assai sincera. Si mangia bene, tanto e alla buona.
